WHY IS LANNY DAVIS REPRESENTING ROBERT PARTON (OIL FOR FOOD SCANDAL)? NEWBIE HERE!
05/06/05 | lorris

Posted on 05/06/2005 6:57:30 PM PDT by lorris

Please forgive me if this post isn't in the correct place. I am a first-time poster - long-time reader. Lanny Davis representing Robert Parton? A Clinton advisor is representing the one man who could take Kofi out of the U.N.? I smell something bad here. Is this a way for Clinton to try to slide into secretary general - by using his own advisor to cut off Kofi's head? I'm confused.

Again, I apologize if this post is incorrect. Please have mercy on the newbie!!!

"Is this a way for Clinton to try to slide into secretary general"

Clinton cannot SLIDE into any position at the UN. It takes a vote of the Security Council - and since the USA is one of the 5 permanent members, WE HAVE VETO POWER.

The Bergler deal was a sham and a travesty. But GW let him skate (apparently). I think our ancestors, who insisted that heads reside upon spikes, had it about right.

It's not against the rules of the UN - but it was a gentlemen's agreement that no one from the 5 permanent members would preside as Secretary General.

However, since Clinton is no "gentleman" - all bets are off.

There are of course, loopholes in that rule. IIRC, it is recommended that Security Council nations not provide the Sec General. Otherwise, all he'd have to do is renounce his US citizenship.

Clinton bought a mansion in the EU, and had been staying there until recently. He said he bought it to be closer to Websters daughter (heh heh heh).
If he thought he could get any where near that much power, he'd denounce the U.S. in a heart beat.
My guess? He'll appoint himself as the head on the UN on June 6th, 2006.

My suspicion is that he's there to keep the trail away from his former boss

You are probably right. I saw Lanny's name on the
letters shown on FOX today.

Or ..... to find out how much is recorded about his boss being involved. There is a lot of talk about Marc Rich being involved with the oil-for-food thingy - and that might involve Clinton.

But .. any suspicion about Clinton is usually correct.

The Clintons are long range planners. They play politics like chess. Moving a rook today is not what it may appear to be when you are cornered by a knight and his QUEEN later in the game!

Brilliant analogy and I'm certain you're right.

The Clinton's have always been back wood shysters. If there was campaign money to be had, the Clinton's are up to this in the eyeballs.

Welcome and I'll probably take the flame for this, but...I think there are a whole lot of worse democrats than Lanny Davis...he went to the wall for Clinton and though he didn't think he should be impeached, I believe that Lanny was burned that Clinton let him stick his neck out so far only to then "admit" to something improper.

And...after all he is a lawyer, if you'd like to disregard my Lanny nice-ities.

Nah. You'll find no saintliness in Lanny. He'd still get paid.

"A Clinton advisor is representing the one man who could take Kofi out of the U.N.? "

Perhaps, Clinton just wants to have someone on the inside. . .to keep him appraised about this investigation of fraud, so massive; it seems impossiible that Clinton, Inc. does not have their name on it . . .somewhere.

If only by way of Mark Rich. . .that would be more than enough.

.

OR just a case of 'like' attracts 'like'. . .
