Word For The Day, Friday, May 6, 2005

May 6, 2005, Friday

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs today. Tomorrow I’m bringing in chains, so beware.

The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer. I’m just letting all the new students know that we behave as if we were ladies and gentlemen in here. Those two words “as if” can get you an A if you make the subbie laugh.

IT’S COMMANDO FRIDAY!

PECCANT

Adjective
Etymology: Latin, peccans, peccant – present participle of peccare, “to sin.”
Pronunciation:pe/caent
1) Sinful, guilty.
2) Violating a rule or accepted practice; erring.

Peccancy=noun; peccantly=adjective

Thank you again, Arghie! You’re making it rough for me to give you quadruple F minuses.

Thank you, my FRiend.

It finally hit me that the very LAST thing I want to do is go back to a desk job, particularly a structured one. I can see no justification in me going back to work if the only work I can get will only pay me enough just to cover the day care cost. And in this area, that is about the extent of what I can get paid, if I can get that much. It's less expensive for me to stay home.

If this works, and I am going to be positive in my attitude that it will, it will grant me the flexibility I need for Jax, and some income.

You know what they say - find something you love to do and never work again. :-) Good luck Gabz. I hope you get enough traffic to keep you busy.

Thanks, Whyisa

I'm "Recorder" - I'm in charge of the money for the Women of the Moose segment of the Lodge, sort of like the Ladies Auxillary of a .volunteer fire company or American Legion.

The previous administration (husband and wife) damn near cost the Lodge the charters for both the men and the women. We're trying desperately to get things back on track

Cool idea.

St Ronnie's Mom & Dad are in town (south of here) for Jean's graduation at Ronnie's brother's house.

My mom is here with us for Jean's graduation also. Obvious Russel and his wife (and their two granded kids are near here also ...

So, she (Ronnie's mom) is looking for a place to take everybody (her treat) out for Mother's Day. Says' she REFUSES (big capital letters!) to eat in, or cook, on Mother's Day, and when she's traveling, she will refuse to let any of HERKIDS eat in or cook on Mother's Day either.

St. Ronnie's mom has the right idea.

The crosstown rivals soccer game ended in a tie. So the undefeated team is still undefeated.

Nothing as cheesy as that...........thinking more along the lines of Temberanceville Tavern Tasties.

And on that note I wish you a fond good night - I need some sleep.

Good evening, Miss Slip:

For nearly half a century
In times of Cold War, Peace and Drudgery
Silver Spooned Elitists have been
Trying to structure a dependent life
From Cradle to Grave

It's our fault that races aren't fairly represented
You may even get money if you are descended
From Antebellum cotton pickers stolen at birth
By members of the same non-caucasian race
Liberal lawyers whip this horse while Big Business caves

To be judged by your worth is surely not a sin
As long as someone receive something for nothing
Neither will ever truly win

Clinton's Social Engineering
Left millions in uniform sneering
Diminished, then Lowered Expectations
Seems to have infested the Nation
It's way past time to Declare War
On the peccant ACLU and all its Esquired kin!

Jack Deth~ 05/06/05.

"On the peccant ACLU and all its Esquired kin!"

Now that is what I call a fine descriptive phrase.

Quite accidentally, I noticed this morning that the NY Slimes advertises on PBS.
This surely constitutes some form of incest.

I was goint to say "journalistic incest", but that would lend entirely too much credibility to both of these DNC subsidiaries.
