The Hobbit Hole XXI - ...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Cool video.
I also enjoyed seeing the picture of Junior ready for the prom, he had a nice time there, I'm sure.

Hello, everyone, I am back, fwiw, from graduation. Little one did well.

Yeah. It was a bet. The guy I was betting actually told me later that he stopped the "contest" because he was afraid for me. He thought it might kill me.

Back in those days, I didn't care.

Still, I won the bet, nonetheless and he had to take me out to eat a seafood dinner. :-) Later. Many many days later.

Thank you for pointing out that weird hurricane! I think. Hoping it's not a harbinger of things to come. We get more than enough of those things out of our own ocean.

Eeep!

You must have been put on this Earth for some purpose, woman, because you oughta be dead from your wild youth.

I think it would lay me out longer than twenty four hours. I like tequila, though. Sauza, usually. Anyone has a good margarita recipe, not frozen, let me know.

Yah... I can no longer drink tequila. I can't even smell it, or the contents of my stomach will suddenly appear on the wall. I don't remember why this is, but it happened at some point in 1982. :-)

Tequila takes me out pretty quickly. Although I don't get as sick as I would with bourbon...

These days though, after a few drinks, I just want a nap.

Heck, most days I'd just be happy for the nap.

Yes, thousands!

Jane Goodall, of all people, was the speaker. The graduates chose to have fun with that by, in the closing moments of the ceremonies, inflating large plastic monkeys, beach balls, bananas, bear bottles, and a nude nurse, and batting them around above their heads while they sat in Carrier Dome. I'll try to post a pic, not that everyone has to be bored by that stuff.

That was about when this happened to me!! 1982-83...some time in there.

I can't even stand the smell of Margaritas...not even to this day.

I don't like whiskey that well. I'm pretty sure that if that's all there was to drink, I would be very abstemious. Unfortunately, there is stuff like rum, vodka and tequila that tastes wonderful when mixed up with various juices. I like martinis too, but have pretty much sworn off of them.

Mmm...sleep...

For some reason, for weeks now I wake up by five thirty or so...usually can get back to sleep for a little while, but I end up dragging myself out of bed by six thirty as it just isn't worth the effort of trying to sleep, only to shoot awake every five minutes.

Maybe I need to start drinkin'.
