I have not read the book, but I have read the review on the book in their Creation Magazine. Your post has it wrong.

I went and read the reviews of the book at Amazon, and I think you are correct. The book is written from a Christian worldview. None of the reviews give away too much in the way of content, but they consistently gave high marks (with the usual exceptions).

As a non-christian, this looks to me like an attempt to make a sci-fi type parallel with the spiritual battle that Christianity believes is the current state of the universe/creation.
