The U.S. GOV'T is collaborating with the middle-eastern powers even as we are fighting with them. They are collaborating them in the area of gasoline, going around fixing prices and telling us that they have nothing to do with this, and that they can do nothing about this, I am here to prove that this is all a lie, and gas prices should be dropping to $1.50 $1.40 without them losing more than a penny!! It's all a conspiracy to keep the american public under the gun and to show us that the middle-eastern powers still control us even though we are breaking their regime as we speak, OPEC promised us more than double production LAST YEAR we have yet to see any production increase at their facilities.

Do you have a source for OPEC doubling production?
They said, IIRC, they would increase production, not double it.

It ain't the supply of oil that is driving up gasoline prices. It is the supply of gasoline and more specifically the supply (or lack thereof) of refineries. If a flood of oil came on the market today, we could not refine it fast enough to ease supply shortages. As it is now, refineries have to coordinate maintence so that two or more refineries are not shut down at the same time.
You can also blame the high prices on state governments that require special unique blends for sale in their states. This prevents surplus gasoline in one region that is the "wrong blend" from being diverted to another region where supply is tight and prices have risen as a result.

Two pressures involved in oil prices, IMO.
The true owners of the major oil supplies, i.e. the Arab royalty are padding their pockets worrying about democratic change in the Mid East.
China is demanding more oil, waving around their new found dollars. How much oil could the PRC buy using Yuan?
