A very good Freeper has another thread going on right now, called "Let's End the Rancor." I started to respond, and realized...my RANCOR ain't going away any time soon. So....
NO! I will never forgive them.
I will never forgive the death cabal that forsook common decency and Judeo-Christian principles, and made a Never-give-in stand just to give those who embrace life grief, tension and tortured, sleepless nights.
Didn't mean to exclude Jews. I think most Jews were on our side on this.
I was not trying to be crappy.
The Antinomianists hold that since God runs the universe, it's all His fault, so individuals are therefore not guilty ~ that is, they are forgiven by God since the foundations of the Universe.
This is considered a very serious heresy.
In the old days Antinomianists would strip off their clothes in public to show others that God was not going to strike them down with lightning for shameful behavior.
I suspect there's a spirit of Antinomianism behind the belief that abortion and euthenasia are acceptable.
It's a doggone shame that the Catholic Church was not as thorough in it's examination of Antinomianism as it was the Cathers!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I've had about 40 percent replies here asking me to "channel my anger." Do Freepers realize that that is what liberals are telling us to do? I even had someone tell me to make sure I get my living will in order.
I live by His Living Will, thank you all very much. And this travesty is not what He had in mind.
Thanks, Chieftan. And keep reading.
This is a problem I think you'd best take up with your Mom, not us!
You're supposed to wait 24 hours after a pivotal, national tragedy before you weigh in with jejeune responses--didn't you read the rules?
I'm gonna need chapter and verse on that.
I'm being misunderstood big time. I'm not going to repeat myself.
ANTINOMIANISM--that's a mouthful. I'll have to look that one up. Thanks.
Thank you...THANK YOU!
You know what, you should post that article in its own thread, mentioning Terri in the title.
Great article. The man has his head on straight and his heart in the right place.
I'm teaching the word to Freepers everywhere a thread at a time!
Read post 86.
Matthew 5:
43 You have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thy enemy.
44 But I say to you, Love your enemies: do good to them that hate you: and pray for them that persecute and calumniate you:
This is not a day for recrimination, finger pointing, hatred or mean spiritedness.
Contrary to popular belief, I think this is a sad day for everyone, regardless of which side or sides in this multi-faceted debate you are on.
So I will just say: Mrs. Schiavo...may you rest in peace.
And may her family and those who loved her find comfort and joy.
"To think that "forgiveness" means we have to forgive Mugabe, Castro, Jeffrey Dahmer, Stalin, Hitler, Felos, and countless other cruel and wicked people is a false philosophy that should be rejected. We can sorrow for them, though. We are indeed called upon to forgive those who offend us personally. But that still doesn't mean that we have to think they are good people, hang out with them, or let them have their way."
Brilliant. And read post 86.
Last week at one point, Terri's brother asked people watching to pray for Michael because he had so lost his way. I thought this was such a pure intention on his part, and what he received in return from Michael was banishment from Terri's deathbed. It makes me beyond angry, but I still can't forget her brother's original request, and I do. And I think it sums up the motives of each side here.
That hate you.
This is a personal instruction to each of us. Nowhere is it said to tolerate evil done to another.
Well said. And what I really like about it is, you agree with me. Thanks.
