I have NEVER been a fan of Jesse Jackson. But when he can get the biased liberal anti-Terri media - to report the words, Terri's starvation is "immoral" and an "injustice," -- as he did today -- then I have to thank him. I just called his office in the Chicago area; told them I have not been a supporter of his, but I thank him for standing up for Terri.

Maybe so, but he called her starvation "immoral" -- and the American people need to hear that truth. If the president won't go down and say it, I'll take Jesse Jackson. me too, and thanks for posting this

And I have to truly wonder about FR and if it is a place for me if trusting Jesse Jackson to be more than a race-baiting idiot is de rigueur.

You have every reason to wonder. There are people here that would be kissing the feet of Pol Pot if he somehow came back from the dead and announced he was on their side in the Terri mess.

I never thought I'd see the day that something as retarded as this appeared on FR.

A decade in the courts, twelve days of starvation, and NOW he follows the press to Florida and says something?

I agree, mhking. I ain't buying it.

Is this the first sign of the Rapture???

What took him so long to decide he was for Life??? Is this damage control for the Dinosaurs???

Pray for W and Terri

Right is right no matter your motive.

As the Apostle Paul said:

15 Some, to be sure, preach Christ out of envy and strife, but others out of good will. 16 These do so out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel; 17 the others proclaim Christ out of rivalry, not sincerely, seeking to cause me trouble in my imprisonment. 18 What does it matter? Just that in every way, whether out of false motives or true, Christ is proclaimed."

You say it very well, XINS. Only God sees the man's heart. In this case his actions are right. It is always wise to be wary, but cynicism for its own sake makes darn poor ideology.

I too contacted Jackson with encouragement and uphold this effort in prayer.

"I wonder what your opinion of the Good Samaritan is?"

So now Jessie Jackson is a "Good Samaritan"?

That's the best laugh I've had this evening.

Hey, if you day job ends, consider becoming a comedian.

"I agree wholeheartedly. If JJ had wanted to "help Terri", he'd have done so 12 days ago. (At LEAST)"

If he'd shown up 12 days ago the charges of grandstanding would have been even louder. People would've said who asked you to come here. As it is the parents asked and he came. Should Rush have been there 12 days ago, I mean if he wanted to help.

Terri's parents asked Jesse to visit her.

Okay. Thanks for the info.

I can't imagine why they would. But, then, I also cannot imagine the terrible pain that this family is being forced to endure.

He's the test subject who's out there with a finger to the right-to-life wind while Hillary and Kerry take note.

I greatly admire your perspicacity!

I hate being a cynic, but the Rats have so distorted the political reality that everything that they do must be examined through a microscope.

So what is new here?

Jesse Jaxkass has always been against states' rights, separation of powers and against the rule of law.

No surprise he wants to circumvent due process re the Schiavo case.

Maybe the only surprise is you coming out of the closet to support circumventing the rule of law, trashing the states' rights further and thumbing your nose at separation of powers.

I still don't understand how good people like you go bad.
