Terrie Schiavo's own actions will stand as a witness, an uncontestable witness, to her will to live. Who amonsgt us believs we could last eight or more days without water or nourishment? Very few indeed, even in the best of health.
I say, to all of those wo indicate she is vegetative, past feeling or emotion...look at her will to live! I challenege any of those people, any of them, to do what she has done. I challeneg any of them to apply the golden rule to her...to have done unto themselves what they are doing to her.
Her witness, will stand against all those seeking to kill her, and will haunt forever those who had the power to save her but did not. I urge all to consider her fight and her unbelievable will to live. It in itself is becoming a miracle as she continues to live, despite all odds to the contrary.
God bless her, God bless her family...and may God yet touch the heart of someone in power who can save her and preserve this remarkable witness as a miracle of out time...one where she defies the experts and survivies and is rehabilitated beyond understanding.
...and if not...then God bless her soul in Heaven, God comfort those who truly love her and have showed it by their actions...and God forgive our nation and what we have done to her collectively as a people.

Those words ignited the formation of this nation, one nation under God. They trump any legislative act or judicial decision just as surely as the trumped the King of England.
As to MS...you must admit that he has broken the marriage contract. He is living with another woman, fathered two children by her. That is not in sickness or in health or til death do they part (he and Terri), therefore, his benefits and rights and priveleges are forfeit as far as Terri is concerned...irrespective of the rest.
The decision rightly should have fallen to the parents long ago. as far as I am concerned.
...and I still call you friend. There are many people who rationally disagree. I honestly believe that as far as her physical/health state is concerned and as far as her final wishes are concerned that there is significant disagreement and doubt regarding both. In such situations, one always errs on the side of life.
That would not be the case in the instance you quoted because you have made you wishes clearly known and probably have writteen them down legally too...I know I have.
None of that applies in Terri's case. When in doubt on such issues...err on life. That's been pretty much my entire point...and I think Terri's own action in this fight for the last eight days just puntuate that.

Though there may be some who don't respect your personal decision for yourself, those of us who are so emotional and so angry are those who suspect MS 'selective memory' and the agenda of the judge himself. As strongly as I stand with Terri, I will stand with you that your wishes be respected.
In the meantime, I wish that you live long and well.

I, like you, don't want the government at any level meddling in my life. But I don't that the Republic is in peril if it acts to save an innocent life. Indeed, a little respect for the sanctity of life would be a good lesson for all. And to the contrary, if it doesn't act, we, as a nation, all lose and the country is far worse for that failure.
Thank you for the respect that you have shown both in your post and your restraint in not posting. You have much more class than those who are dancing on her grave.
I don't know if everything said about MS is true or not. My gut tells me that it is, but I have no proof.
What convinced me was these uncontested items. All the rest are the icing on the cake, so to speak.
1] Michael vowed to care for her for life during the lawsuit and he expected it to be a very long life -- at least 40 years.
2] Shortly after the settlement, he:
a) suddenly remembered her 'statement';
b) his new 'woman' had their first child; and
c) they took up life together.
I believe that qualifies as abandonment.
With those basic facts, MS is unqualified to be a guardian for her. Any sane and rational judge would see that. Why hasn't Greer?
From there everything else unravels as to MS's credibility and the objectivity and fairness of the judge.
Understandably, in staying away from these threads you have missed, not only the emotion and anger but also the facts that are not getting covered in the news accounts. The misinformation there has been unbelievably horrible. I find that once people get past the misinformation and disinformation and separate their own wishes from this particular situation, new opinions are formed.
Again, this has nothing to do with fighting your choice. I am quite sure that I would come to that same decision myself if I wasn't going to live forever. ;-) But I certainly don't want to trust my life -- of whatever quality -- to a woman that can't wait to see me dead so that she can marry her boyfriend who she's been having an affair with.

Woe to those who incur the vengeance and wrath of the Lord. You have to wonder what is being heaped on Terri's head?

I read a book about Brother Yun who went without food or water for over a month! He lives today. He survived prison in China.
Indeed, they are. Terri will live as long as He wants her to. Her struggle for life has already caused many to think about or to rethink their own lives and mortality. There are lessons to be learned if only we take the time to look for them prayerfully.
I'd say that was more like three cents.
Good points. I'm glad she made it through Easter. It would have been an additional tragedy had she died on the day that Christ came back to life.
This has been a phenomenally difficult case to witness over the last year.
I feel certain that there is much in the way of hidden deals going on behind the scenes between her "husband" and entities that stand to profit from the killing of the helpless in America.
We all know that when terminally or very ill people lose the will to live, that they fade quickly. Terri has not lost that will and exhibits it every day as her own testimony, perhpas the only terstimony she can give, each and every day. It is miraculous IMHO, and will stand as a witness on earth and in heaven should she be starved and dehydrated to death.
One more thing, I never thought I would see the day, but I have to pay my regards and thanks to Jesse Jackson's efforts on this day. I don't agree with anything he has done publically to this point as far as I know, but perhpas his efforts will be another miracle that makes a difference in the Florida Senate tomorrow. I pray it will and will give credit to God in Heaven as well.
Let's keep praying and writing and emailing and faxing and encouraging.

Beyond question Jeff. It's a travesty.
Terri is struggling and telling her own story about a will to live. I do not think I could last 13 days without foood or water myself. She is a remarkable individual IMHO.
IMHO, God is blessing Terri and giving our nation all the time and witrness it needs to stand for life.
We are seeing God at work here. He is still allowing those that are luke warm in their faith to make amends. He is also giving George Bush one more chance but time is running out......
