Too bad the Charger isn't slated for the 6.1 liter HEMI. They are going to put one into a Jeep...415 horses! I would think that the enhanced engine would be the big selling point for the Charger, not the name.

I saw a website that said it would have a 6.1 425hp engine...but that might be old info

No doubt BMW brings power and beauty to the table! The Charger lines do not impress me as well. I'm a MOPAR muscle car fan, so I'm biased. Both the M6 (507 bhp) and the HEMI variants (425 bhp) can move!

The M3 is a cool little car, but there are just too many around. The M5 would be cool, because it isn't so common.

I saw a 55yr old or so lady driving an E55 last week... I was thinking what a waste!

but who knows. maybe she is a speed demon.

I've lost so much respect for American auto manufacturers its sad anymore. I got a '02 GMC Sierra 1500 but once Toyota/Mazda/(maybe Honda now) gets a decent full sized pickup out on the market I'll steer towards them and say bye to GM.
I don't know much about the original Hemi's but it seems like todays Hemi's are such an embarrassment to what they once were. I'm not sure if Dodge is using a different engine in their models or if they are still using the same engines they have and just put a HEMI sticker on the side.

Well its quite a bit different here in Montana though. BMW's are still pretty rare but it seems like they are making a jump in numbers. The M line is not seen at all hardly. In the North-West of the state though, the X5's are quite numerous, but my mom's is pretty nice. :)

Why? 345 hp ain't bad! And the ability to drop cylinders while cruising to conserve fuel is a good development. They also the redesign makes the engine more technician (grease monkey) friendly.

They aren't just using the old late 60's early 70's engines. The concept came up to redesign the aging 5.9ltr, Dodge talked with old timers who engineered the original and tweaked it up a notch. It wasn't a gimmick by the ad guys. They didn't know until a litter over a year before production.

The diesels are pretty rare in America though, BMW.com doesn't even list them in the American lineup. :(

Yeah, I'd like to see them sold here. But, I'm apparently in the minority. :-/
