If Terri dies when she could actually be kept alive, and Jeb Bush doesn't use the State Police or the Florida National Guard, or ANYTHING to prevent this travesty, he will be vilified by the democRATS if he ever seeks another office (like the Presidency).
It means nothing that some democRATS are actually trying to keep her alive. The only thing that the MSM will hammer on is that he stood by AS Governor and allowed that poor woman to DIE when he could have prevented it.
Sick feelings among decent people are real common the last few days. Besides people, I have never seen my parakeets bicker and be testy like they have this week. They say animals sense bad things coming...
In the meantime, Michael Shiavo's lawyer, George Felos succeeded in getting a court to file an injunction preventing the Governor from getting protective custody of Terri Schiavo. This, after Jeb Bush stated in his press conference today that he had state statutes which permitted him to take custody of Terri. Does this latest court injunction prevent such an action? I hope not.
I don't understand. Greer was held in contempt of congress and nothing is being done about it yet he still goes on ruling and everyone jumps, even the Governor.
"I think Greer will land on his butt on this."
That's the conclusion I have been coming to these past couple hours. I heard on the news that the Supreme Court has previously turned down appeals, but this brief mentions the new evidence of the Social Serivce petition.
Tell me how the Supreme Court can let a woman die of starvation who, new evidence shows, is not even PVS?? They could remand it back down, I suppose. I can't see them propping up Greer's mistakes. I just can't see that happening.
But it is agonizingly slow. If it is for us, and it is or we wouldn't be here at 4am -- imagine the family and Terri.
Just so we're all clear on this: the reality is that an innocent woman is being killed here in my backyard. Gonzo & I have already exchanged posts about what it is like at ground zero.
I'll repress the urge to tell you you're not thinking clearly, and laugh this off.
I guess that didn't come across as I had intended.
You are a very reasonable, responsible person and I don't think you would be thinking along these lines if this case wasn't eliciting such strong emotions.
And which poll would that be? Was it a scientific poll? Depending upon the questions asked, and the constituents, a poll can easily be manipulated.
Out of the 61%, who has made an informed decision? Are they aware of all the facts/information surrounding the case?
Would you like for us to look more like Europe, or Africa, perhaps Asia? It sounds as though you want justice, and are just as frustrated as I am. On this point we are certainly in agreement.
Cyn, I understand exactly what's happening. I know Terri is being killed and I am truly heartsick about it.
Congress has to get his hiney hauled up to DC.
That seem like the reasonable interpretation,my only worry is that in all this legal imbroglio the legal adjudicators(i refuse to call them justices)have failed to rule reasonnably.
Because the abandoning husband forbids it.
How anyone could consider this person to be the guardian (and I have no respect for them, by the way), based on his new life, is beyond me.
Take these auras and penumbras, lasso Greer, and haul him out of town, to a hill, with. . .a lone tree.
Tie him up and leave him to the painless, mildly euporic rush of. . .starvation and dehydration.
I don't think Greer's injunction prevents action by the governor. Jeb's lawyer said that DCF by law did not have to consider prior legal rulings, and presumably "prior legal rulings" include any of Greer's injunctions. But DCF does have to strictly adhere to the relevant Florida statute. If this happens, it won't be an Elian Gonzalez type of raid. The Florida AG will probably call the Pinnelas County sheriff and arrange a transfer of custody whereby the state police will replace the county sheriffs as guards, and then they'll move Terri to a hospital if necessary. There won't be any confrontation between the two police forces, that's for sure!
If it is indeed that simple then it would have been done by now.
just remains to be seen if he has the gonads to do it. Take care..............FRegards
"The bad of that situation was not the use of force, i was the use of force for an evil purpose. "
That is, indeed, the proper distinction.
And police power is being used for an evil purpose even now, guarding Terri to be sure no one can help her! That evil use of police power is going on NOW -- yet some see that as "legal" because it was ordered by a Probate Judge; but if the GOVERNOR ordered it to save an innocent life, it would be illegal!! GO FIGURE.
