My favorite dogs in 'real life' are Labrador and Golden Retrievers. Those are two of my favorites, although I wouldn't want them as a guard dog. They'd try and lick the intruder to death. They'd be my first choice though around kids.
I'll probably get two labs once I'm out of the apartments unless I'm on the road a lot as I am now. I can't leave a dog home alone all day.

That's amazing! I actually came out "Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier", which is a breed not that well known, and guess what our last dog that just died last year was a SCWT.

ah, you are the envy of all the dachshunds and beagles...not too many retreivers on this thread!! I am a shetland sheepdog. haven't decided how I feel about that yet. Meek, on the other hand, is a Saint Bernard and that sounds about right.
