Okay, anyone else see/hear all the miltary helicopters over the San Gabriel Valley this afternoon and evening. They're not black and I'm relatively sober.
Four flew over my truck at about 300 or 400 ft on the 10 FWY at about 4:00 p.m. today (heading west). Rattled my truck at 70 MPH. Looked like two Chinooks(?) and two smaller, single-rotor ones (sorry, I'm not a rotorhead). Since then they've been back and forth, east and west across the Valley rattling the it's-a-melman estate in Glendora.
Anyone have any idea what's up?

You see/hear these today? I was right around Upland/Montclair today when they flew over my truck on the 10.
Never really seen this kind of military activity in the sleepy San Gabriel Valley.

Seeing as this is not going to happen for another two months, I'll plenty of time to prepare.

Actually, yes, very cool. Must say I was a bit envious as I sat in my Silverado in the traffic below...

It was probably a unit training in a non-traditional enviroment. I've done it myself...nothing to get worried about.

Ha Ha... An honest mistake. It's easy to get confused in some parts of SoCal.

Hey, if you've found a worm hole in the space/time continuum, you have to share with the rest of us.
I could use next weeks Lotto numbers.

Not worried a bit. Like you said, very cool. Just curious. I grew up in the SG Valley and returned about 4 years ago and have never seen this much military activity in the area.

I have been buzzed by an F-4 skimming treetops. I was a lad at the time riding with my mom in central Texas. We were driving along a winding Hill Country road when this F-4 came screeming through the valley just a few feet above the trees. Mom nearly jimped out of her skin (it passed about 50 feet ahead of us). I, being a 10-year-old aviation fanatic, was elated beyond belief.
