Hey, I'm new to the FReeping world, and I'm slightly baffled by some of the unique things to FreeRepublic. What the heck is a ZOT? Who are the viking kitties? Can somebody fill me in on the trolls, the BTTT's, etc? Thanks.

Zot- when a troll (someone who is here only to disrupt, annoy, or provide amusement for regular patrons of this website) gets the boot.
Viking Kitties- The entities who regularly provide the zots, loyal pets of the Mods.
BTTT- "bump to the top" You've got nothing to say or are in a hurry but want to keep track, so you put this on a thread to come back to it later using the "My Comments" feature.

don't say anything for 120 days, this site is not friendly to non-majority opinion. Some people are zotted just for asking the wrong question. It's a past time here. Lay low and hold your breath for awhile.

ya... i posted it in news/activism on accident... and it got pulled pretty quick. before i could read it, to be specific. so, take 2.
For those who are computer-inclined, "ZOT" can also mean "Zero Out Thread" -- which means the same thing, but for programmers.
