It was wonderful. Isn't it great how just the name of an old song brings back everything about the time when you first heard it. Memory Lane rocks!
Thanks for letting me know that.
I didn't see him after the announcement and I wondered what happened.
oh, just browsing the FR, saw this, and added my comments.
uh okay.......
Do you happen to know what "village" your sister is in? Lots of Kingwood was unaffected by the flood, but some of the villages (subdivisions) were completely underwater.
It was just awful. We could hear houses exploding from the water pressure. Mine was nothing but a frame by the time the water receded.
Since I was on the ambulance there, I spent lots of time in boats, getting people out.
As the water entered our house, it started to come up really quick. I had to hand my children who were tiny at the time, to a fireman. I saw them both being taken away by the biggest strongest fireman you ever saw.
I didn't see them until the next day and that was hard.
I knew the firemen and everyone at the shelter was a coworker and knew my kids so I knew that they would be fine. I did talk to them by phone several times.
It was not an experience I'd like to repeat that's for sure!
Definitely let me know if you are heading down this way. I'm only about 20 minutes from Kingwood.
You know, the old men often have some money, but if you get one that is younger than you, he can work longer.
He could be your very own retirement plan! :-)
and he's been tanning... (you saw the post about the transcript, right?)
The reaction of the others when Mary was talking.
lol!
Thanks for the summary! I have to see if they rebroadcast it on a cable channel somewhere.
This has been fun -- meeting everyone on the thread, poking fun at the contestants and judges and generally being nutso together.
KNow when the next season starts? The 1st 3 weeks are far and away the best (when you ask yourself "don't they have a camcorder to see/hear themselves"?)
I sure did see the post about the tanning. That was when they were asked about Anthony and Carrie?
OMG! He IS blushing isn't he? How cute is that!
Actually the auditions start this summer. The first one is in Austin Texas.
But they start airing the auditions in January I think. Someone here will know for sure, but I'm almost positive it's January.
I can hardly wait. This was so much fun! Silent_jonny is going to do a thread for the Amazing Race if you want to be on that one too.
I can make a videotape of the final show for you. It's still on my DVR.
Just let me know.
Tammy
I love TAR!!
On Tuesdays it was jump from AI to TAR.
The only "reality" shows I have ever watched were AI, TAR and The Apprentice. I tried to watch Survivor but it was boring.
No need to go to the trouble, but I appreciate the offer :)
Here's what I know about the contracts. I'll try to explain it as best I can.The Top 12 all sign "representation" deals. They enter a 50/50 partnership with 19 Entertainment. The 11 and 12th place finishers contract expires 90 days after the end of the show. So 90 days from now Lindsay and Mikalah will likely be released from their contract.
The Top 10 are contractually bound to do the AI tour. They are also obligated to do anything else AI askes of them during their contract period. For contestants 2-10 the contract expires 90 days after the tour concludes.
19 Entertainment has pre-arranged a recording contract for the winner.
Here's where the contract gets confusing. At any time during the contract period or duing the 90 day "option" period 19 Entertainment can extend the original contract. Without suing there is no "out" for the talent.
Clay, Diana DeGarmo and Tamyra Gray were all optioned by 19 Entertainment. Clay successfully sued to get out of his deal.
If 19 Entertainment "drops" you at the end of the options period you are free to do what ever you want. In reality 19 Entertainment seems to option anyone they think has a shot even if it's only to prevent them from signing on with someone else.
I hope I explained it ok. I'm used to dealing with talent contracts but I tried to simplify it as much as possible. My description isn't 100% legally accurate but it does give a general idea of what they contracts are like. The contract I saw was from season 2 so I'm sure things have changed. I'd bet the gist is the same since it was a really sweet deal for 19 Entertainment.
IMO because it is a 50/50 deal, in a lot of cases it may be better to hope that 19 drops representation.
The best case for Bo really would be to come in #2, have 19 drop him and then get a different management deal that doesn't take a 50% cut. Clive Davis pretty much publicly gave him a deal record deal so it's unlikly that 19 Entertainment would let him go.
I agree with you, Carrie has a delightful, down to earth personality. Very endearing!
LOL! I never liked Surivor either.
By all means, please keep posting these if it's not too much trouble. I LOVE them!
(I'm such a dork, I've even saved a lot of them. shhhhhh....)
