Yikes about your 2-story house being flooded out. What a mess! My sis has been in K-wood for just a couple of years in a location that did not flood. The insurance companies are getting surly about covering homes that ever had a single drop of water damage, so the history is checked and checked again before purchase. But of course you know this. I LOVE her house in photos but have never been there. If and when I make the trip, I'll let you know and we can have a hooley.

As for marriages, I have you beat by one. It's been awhile, but I'd do it again. I really like men, but there's something weird about my mate-selection process. At this point, I'll need to find a younger man, cuz guys older than I am are all on life suppport. LOL

Do you happen to know what "village" your sister is in? Lots of Kingwood was unaffected by the flood, but some of the villages (subdivisions) were completely underwater.

It was just awful. We could hear houses exploding from the water pressure. Mine was nothing but a frame by the time the water receded.

Since I was on the ambulance there, I spent lots of time in boats, getting people out.

As the water entered our house, it started to come up really quick. I had to hand my children who were tiny at the time, to a fireman. I saw them both being taken away by the biggest strongest fireman you ever saw.

I didn't see them until the next day and that was hard.

I knew the firemen and everyone at the shelter was a coworker and knew my kids so I knew that they would be fine. I did talk to them by phone several times.

It was not an experience I'd like to repeat that's for sure!

Definitely let me know if you are heading down this way. I'm only about 20 minutes from Kingwood.

You know, the old men often have some money, but if you get one that is younger than you, he can work longer.

He could be your very own retirement plan! :-)
