The Hobbit Hole XX - And take the hidden paths that run...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 03/05/2005 11:51:13 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And take the hidden paths that run...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

In the addition, we're going to use crown molding and tallish baseboard molding, so SSQ says I don't have to do any cutting in at all! I'm going to paint the walls up almost to the ceiling and down to the floor, then we'll put the molding on over it. It will go SO much faster! OF course, I'll have to the the cutting in on the other rooms, but I plan to use a paint whose finish is supposed to last at least 15 years, so I'm gonna be sure I like the color, then I don't have to fool with it again, cause I don't plan to still be in this house in 15 years!!

AI folks are one thing.

That steaming turd of a movie is another.

I'd love to ride in a Chinook...I know they're supposed to be really loud and such, but I'd still love to try it just once.

hehehe... I swear 2J... if you ever did you'd be able to completely re-calibrate your white-knuckle scale. :-)

Like they say... the CH-47 was designated because it is merely 47,000 loose helicopter parts all flying in close formation. You can get a pretty good simulation of how it feels by taking a dumpster, hook some chain to it, get in the dumpster and have a pickup truck tow it down a bumpy gravel road at about sixty... :-)

All in all... it's big fun.

I would never think of that movie when I say "AI". I think of the subject matter.

It would have been a much better movie if they'd ended it about fifteen minutes earlier, when the robot was on the bottom of the sea.

Anwar was the "elf" of the bunch.

When he was outed 3 weeks ago, I knew he was on borrowed time.

But he'll do just fine professionally. ;-)

Now, who keeps voting for Slingblade?

IMHO, it would have been better if they never started it.

I wanted to slit my wrists in the middle of the theatre, it was THAT depressing.

So what are you trying to say... that you only mildly liked the movie?

In case I never mentioned it. Apparently they consist of "29 personnel" as far as I can tell online.

I'm not sure how many HH knives we sent them already, but it would be no big deal (any more) to make sure everyone else gets a knife. Our capabilities have improved, too.

I will, however, refrain from baking cookies, out of respect for them.

Another thing to remember is they must have families around. Maybe they could use some "adopting" too.

I abhor that movie. I despise that movie. I reject that movie's very existence. I fart in that movie's general direction!

Please keep him in your prayers, as well.

I'll add him to my prayer list. If you can get an APO for him, I'll add him to our knife list.

hehehe... I guess I'll have to rent it then. Haven't seen it.

How about I, Robot...? Worse? I just got that a couple weeks ago. It's entertaining, but kinda hokey in parts. Without Will Smith it probably wouldn't have even been entertaining.

I, Robot was Oscar material compared to AI.

You have been warned.

I enjoyed I, Robot, but then, I didn't read the books, though apparently, the movie bore little, if any relation to them.

Did you watch the series "Firefly" during its short run on the Sci Fi Channel? The actor who plays Wash, the pilot of Serenity, Alan Tudyk, was the voice of Sunny, the robot in I, Robot
