New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |

Still round the corner there may wait |

Home is behind, the world ahead, |
HEY!! I resemble that remark! ;o)
You have to learn the value of a gracious, heartfelt, Thank you. Your friends WANT to do this for you. Even now, when we're not in the poorhouse like we used to be when SSQ was in school, sometimes his big brother will insist on picking up the check. SSQ doesn't fight about it anymore. He just smiles, says thank you, and we'll pick it up next time.
When you are in the financial position to be able to do it, you may not be able to take those friends out who treated you before, but you can do it for someone else.
Whatever you do, don't be grumpy about it in front of your friends. They want to treat you, and they want you to be happy to be treated.
That's great that she was there. Our Associate Pastor happened to arrive in Rome the Monday before the Pope died. He'd been in the Holy Land on Sabbatical since the Feast of the Epiphany. He stayed on an extra day so as to be there for the funeral. I'm sure he'll be telling us about it at Mass on Sunday. Can't wait to see him. We have missed him. Our Pastor is retiring from active duty, and we're praying heartily that Father Dennis will be our new Pastor. The Parish has grown so much, spiritually, since he's been here.
I so need a weekend. There's just too much work at work. :(
Try not to scrape up too much gravel. :)
Not yet, Lil'...but almost!
Good morning everyone!
You guys up yet!???? :~D
~sip~
That's what my father-in-law said to me when he called the morning after our wedding...
Were ya up yet?
Good morning Corin!
Not when he called...
Well, you probably needed to be ;~D
I am now! Give me a bit and I'll call.
Sorry I didn't end up callin' last night...it was almost ten when we got home.
Fair enough! I'll be gone to take ecurbh to work from 7:45-8:15 or so... then I am coming back here.
Glad you're back safe, Corin! Try not to lose too many more relatives...
And it's good to hear about your cousin. Forty years ago - wow. I can't imagine life without our Zach, but we had all sorts of therapists and things for him in his first three years that helped immeasurably, and there's his wonderful school. Forty years ago they didn't have much in place to help families.
Does Halvah have a problem eating from a bowl that's mostly empty? I think that's what she was complainin' about.
Grr. Some jerkkabob kept leaning on his horn just outside the building, before seven. No doubt signalling someone to come down. Just plain rude and I was too out of it to get up and deal with it.
Yeah...she kinda freaks out if she can see the bottom of the bowl. Also if her water isn't completely fresh.
Looking at her, you would never guess she's the finicky one of the two, would you?
Hope Tam didn't make a ruckus last night...
My cat won't eat unless the bowl is full, and even if it is full, he likes for you to fluff it up a bit so he feels served!
Just talked to Rosie... I'm gonna go pick her up after taking ecurbh to work, and I think prolly do some breakfast and decide what to do!
EVERY morning at 6:30 a.m., our neighbor's daughter drives around the corner and blows the horn "goodbye" to her parents. She's a senior in college.
Tam was good. One of them did start yowling a little this morning but I ignored it until I was ready to get up.
