Yah... the key is noise and light. Burglars want things to be quiet and dark and sneaky. Any unexpected loud bells and whistles and bright light and they're pretty much gonna beat feet.

Some years ago, after the beach house was broken into... I got some of those squealing things and motion sensor lights.
Another thing I did was to take some fishing line and sorta bundle it in a messy tangle down the side walkway of the house, with some cans fulla rocks tied here and there in the thing. Was a noisy tanglefoot. It was right under my bedroom window, and nobody was going to be able run, walk or crawl through there without making a heck of a racket.

I have seriously considered planting holly outside the jedis windows. But I worry if there was a fire and they had to get out, I'm sure they still could but would be painful.
I'm reading about torsion leaves...

That's actually a really good idea.
And... if there was a fire... they wouldn't even notice the holly, even if there were a few scratches.

Just got an email from Djerry in Djibouti. The Camillus CQB1 with his name and our new Hobbit Hole logo just arrived. After reading the second half of his email, I've come to the conclusion that all we have done still isn't enough to express even a fraction of the gratitude owed to him and others like him.
I just got back from my R&R and there were two packages waiting
for me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for the knives. I am not
used to people doing things for me and to have a blade with my name on it is
a bit overwhelming. I will continue to pass out the blades to deserving
troops in the name of the Hobbit Hole. From all of them, thanks for the
good work.
My family was happy to see me but I worked too hard on the honey do's and
was almost glad to get back here. It is a shame that I can't make a decent
living back home in Mississippi but once you get to your mid 50's people do
not want to hire you. This is the best that I can do for my family and it
is good that I can do it for them.
Again, thanks for everything.

Thanks for sharing 300wm.

I'm guessing she should be to Ohio by now, at least. Probably all settled in for the night.
