Heh heh!
Well, now you've done all that can be reasonably expected on a Monday morning. What now?
I need to finish the blog! I've got all the html written, but you can't "right click" on these computers so I'm going to have to go home, insert all the photo urls, save it and then come back and post it! My dial-up won't load my blog anymore. Don't know why. It used to, albeit slowly.
Then of course we should probably do some school...
Heh heh! We're all suffering from spring fever.
mmmmm....spring fever...
I've accomplished everything on my "must to Monday" list. I can go home, right?
Heh, sounds good to me...
We have a lovely day here today. Tonight we might get snow. Weather here is never dull, at least!
Glad you got the manuals! SSQ has been buying all kinds of stuff on e-bay to work on the house! He's been having a great time!
I rarely ever buy on eBay, just 'cause I rarely can afford it...but I think this was a good purchase and the guy I bought from has a good reputation. He's already contacted me thanking me for my swift payment and telling me he will mail the manuals today.
These books new cost over $50.
I'm home now...the boys are doing school and we're eating lunch.
Been an exciting day already!
E-bay has been great for tools and supplies like the wire. We bought the trailer (Bill the Pony) so that we'd be able to pick up materials from suppliers and save the cost of shipping for those as well. There's a place in NH that sells the Form-a-Drain that we need for pouring the footings, and we can pick it up there; it's only about 2 hours away. We're looking forward to our Road Trips!
Isn't it fun, doing it yourself? I mean, you'll know that addition inside and out and know that it's done well. That's how I feel about the Bug. I already have learned so much just taking it apart! I'm constantly planning the the most cost effective way to put it back but still be done right.
Doing it ourselves means we know just what's been done.
I can't wait to get the blog up today...we really had a great weekend...
Were you thinking of doing a blog for your addition? Or did I dream that? LOL
That's how I feel about the computer I built! I'm almost ready to get that into working mode. Turns out I really need multiple computers at home. My thesis is going to involve distributed programs, and testing that will require either doing all the work at school, or having a network of my own at home.
Hmm... Rosie won't mind me stealing a few processor cycles from her...
I mentioned it to SSQ, but he's not so sure. We will take pictures along the way, and I'll post some from time to time. This is going to be a L-O-N-G process! We're starting with the slab for the new foyer, except we're not going to enclose it just yet. We're going to get a hot tub to put on it so that when we get really rolling on the house, we'll be able to relax the old muscles every evening!
There are several reasons we decided to do it ourselves. Number one is that we CAN. SSQ has knowledge of everything in the building process having worked with his Daddy, who was a Gen. Contractor. My Daddy was a carpenter, so I have some skill with a hammer. ;o) Number two is that we're doing it as a tribute to both of those wonderful men. Number three is that it won't cost as much because we won't be paying the labor costs, since we're not counting OUR time as money; it is sweat equity. Number four, we'll have control over every aspect of the process, and we KNOW that everything will be done correctly; we won't have to wonder what's going on behind the walls because we will have put it there!
We'll be spending the weekend at that convention at the end of April. Our #1 son, Paul, was very proud for Clare and told her he might try to get over for the weekend of the convention. He has a couple of friends who are big into Anime, and he said they'd likely be attending the convention, too.
How COOL! Tell me how she does! And let me know if I can download her art somewhere - I appreciate a well-done AMV!
I'll tell her to send them to you. Freepmail me your e-mail addy! I've only seen part of one of them, but it was really good!
Ok, done!
The blog has been updated! One picture didn't work, I'll have to worry about it later.
I only have a few minutes of time left on the library computer and the boys want it.

You guys are making great progress.
