SSQ is very conscious about holding down the cost as much as possible on the addition. That's one of the reasons we're doing most of the work ourselves. He's been able to get several 500' spools of electrical wire for less than half of what they'd cost at Lowe's or Home Depot, even including shipping!

E-bay has been great for tools and supplies like the wire. We bought the trailer (Bill the Pony) so that we'd be able to pick up materials from suppliers and save the cost of shipping for those as well. There's a place in NH that sells the Form-a-Drain that we need for pouring the footings, and we can pick it up there; it's only about 2 hours away. We're looking forward to our Road Trips!

Isn't it fun, doing it yourself? I mean, you'll know that addition inside and out and know that it's done well. That's how I feel about the Bug. I already have learned so much just taking it apart! I'm constantly planning the the most cost effective way to put it back but still be done right.

Doing it ourselves means we know just what's been done.

I can't wait to get the blog up today...we really had a great weekend...

Were you thinking of doing a blog for your addition? Or did I dream that? LOL
