The Hobbit Hole XX - And take the hidden paths that run...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 03/05/2005 11:51:13 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And take the hidden paths that run...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

No amount of espresso is waking me up. And I can't seem to dislodge this hatchet that's in my head. ;~\

Heh...I took a break to sign back on when I heard the news. At least Terri is a rest, even if we aren't.

And we didn't even go out carousing or anything last night.

:-)

Hey, tetanus shot appointment is tomorrow morning at 11am. I have 72 hours from the time of injury to get the shot. Going to my regular physician and it's gonna cost me $15 co-pay for the visit and the shot. Woulda cost $20 at the health department...I'm glad I inquired first!

Sheesh, $20 sounds like a lot for a health department!

But $15 isn't too bad! Worth the peace of mind.

Speaking of peace of mind...the payroll lady (who I've been trying to get in touch with alllll week) is out all day today. Nothing like pushing this to the last minute...but she kept telling me to wait until I was closer to leaving, so I planned to talk to her this week. Grrrr!

Yikes! Insurance lady just called. Said she gave me the wrong info. Said my tetanus shot co-pay would be $45 in ADDITION to my $15 office co-pay!

It looks like the health department for me!

Yikes! Sounds like the health department is a bargain, then!

Argh, got to class to turn in that stupid assignment we were doing all last night, and it turns out that the school machines, running Visio 2002, can't read our Visio 2003 document. So I have to install 2003, print the doc, and turn it in... at least the professor was understanding.

I forgot to tell you! Four more boxes arrived yesterday - making six total here - and the mail-lady asked if you were moving by mail. I said yes :-)

Oh dear...

Did you apologize to her for me?

There are still four more...and a little one being forwarded from the house address.

She's a very cheerful person and I thanked her for bringing the boxes. Don't worry, she won't hex you.

I'll let you know if any arrive today. You'll have to wait and see, after that! Right now I'm just shoving them all off into your room and shutting the door :-D

I'm hoping I can check in here one last time over the weekend. Dad's dial-up works once in awhile (grrrr...it's a pain!), and the bothers have cable. So...if they do come, maybe you can post it?

They aren't taking up toooo much room in that room, are they? I'm still fretting about how much I ended up with descpite my bests efforts. But then...some things won't stay in the room. I have pots and pans, for one; and also some books that we may both like.

Heh, even when all the boxes are here I'll have them stacked against one wall. It's not a big room by any means but there's room. And I've saved almost half the big bookshelf for you, plus there's room on the vids/manga bookcase for any movies you have.

And I guess until there's furniture in there...it should be pretty open. Need to get a desk and a bed pretty quickly!

Tonight is my last Irish session night. *sniff* Here, that is. Still want to make it to the Fort Collins one at some point.

Let's plan to do the Fort Collins one the first Sunday you're out here! I'll bet Margaret would like to hear it.

I can't wait for Van-sama to get here so I can buy some more bookshelves - all my references books are in a pile against the wall in my room.

Plan on putting your desk out in the living room... I've got it arranged so there should be room, though it'll be cozy. Then you can just keep stuff in your room, and maybe some open space for the kitties to lie in the sun.
