Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And take the hidden paths that run...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

WHAT?!!
He's married. His first kid arrived last week. And it would be a complete violation of ethics!

It's like when I ran that marathon! I trained for a solid year for that thing and when I crossed the finish line, I wasn't the same person I was the year before.
You run 26.2 miles...it'll change ya! ;-)
It's a gorgeous day here. My neighbor is mowing and although it's probably gonna give me an allergy, I like the smell of it.

Beautiful here, too! 52 degrees!
Warming up that fast isn't good for the sugaring season, but I'm selfish enough to enjoy it anyhow. ;-)

I think I did mention that I found a Terminator action figure in it, under the back seat? That would date to the 80s, right? Can you imagine, the young boy, perhaps the age of one of my jedis, played with that figure, lost it, and is now a young man? Either that or as a juvenile, he was incarcerated as a car thief.
I'd go for the drama.

Heh!!!
I got the windows cleaned. Used some of Matthew's old diapers. It doesn't look so bad now, but I wish I could get the coon prints off the top.
There really is no sense washing it...it would just potentially exacerbate the rust and I'm going to have the entire thing sandblasted eventually anyways.

Nothing much going on at the moment that I am currently aware of.
(Was helping to tweak settings on another system.)
Other than that, it's been a quiet day.

Tomorrow I get to talk to the payroll woman here, so she can tell me what I already know - that the back pay negotiated from the union deal will be forfeit in my case. It was finally resolved, BUT you have to be employed as of the 15th of April. Of course. I finally decide to stop waiting for that to come through, and it does...two weeks too late. Ugh.

Corin's dream for
Entmoot 2008.
I turn 50 that year. This is on my "things to do before I die list."
Who's with me?

Corin's dream for Entmoot 2008.Sounds good to me! Joseph graduates high school that year, and Paul and David have been wanting to go out West again. They weren't with us in 2000 when we last went to the Grand Canyon. Maybe we can combine all those things into one Great Adventure!

Does that bring back memories! When I was getting my masters one of my advisors left his wife and child and moved in with the "hot number" in our economics class. I didn't know anything about it until the day of my orals, and I was so shook and angry with him, I could barely answer his questions. Thank goodness I passed anyway!
To: LSAggie
Sheesh! Isn't that abusing his position, along with plenty of other things, but they even emphasis to the grad students who TA here that you have to be really careful about relationships with anyone who might be in your class...
