Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And take the hidden paths that run...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

So what 'language' did you end up using? Quenya? Tengwar?

Hey, I wanted to tell you that we reemed out the plumbing vents today then washed them out with the hose. Got a bunch of stuff out, looked like mostly composting leaves. The toilet wouldn't flush and the tub wouldn't even drain last night and, well, we KNEW the septic wasn't stopped up! And I had snaked up from the outside pipe as far as I could (I could hear it chinking on metal inside.)
So far everything seem to be good, so I'm really thinking that the gurgling toilet that started us on this long endeavor was simply being caused by clogged plumbing vents.
But I hate to get my hopes up.
The septic is now working great...when I take off the access toward the leach field and sprinkle a little dust on the water in the septic tank, I can see it steadily moving out and down the pipe.

So what 'language' did you end up using? Quenya? Tengwar?Haven't found any Quenya fonts. That's the "modern" Tengwar, as opposed to the elvish cursive version. It would be equivalent to a "printed" font for the common language of the Free Peoples.

..."eternity" has always seemed to me to be more of the absense of time... So events in Heaven could take place non-sequentially...or simultaneously...
But could we travel the (non-)time stream voluntarily, even drop back into time as observers of events currently in our past?
A great deal of the joy of the hereafter, I imagine, will be getting past the generalities of gold streets and perfected body and soul, and down to the specifics of abilities, activities, what do you need a mansion for if you don't need to sleep, etc.

I just think words like "non-sequential" and "simultaneous" may be complete meaningless at that point...

Wow, new digs and you have turned into South Park Hobbits. Happy new Hobbit Hole to you all.
Life is returning to normal a bit more. Busy washing and packing Terry's clothes so he can work out of town next week. He will be working in Il., flying into Indiana and then driving some.
Hope everyone has had a good weekend and will have a good week. Cheers!

LOL! I bet so! Took me a minute to figure out what you were talking about but I bet you're right.
I find it amazing that he is only 33 years old...four years younger than my little brother. I guess because I always still think of my brother as just a little kid! LOL

Yeah. Soon, anyway.
Goin' to bed early. I'm overtired and I want my mom...though it was a good day otherwise!
I just have moments in the midst of all this when I either want to talk this over with her, or feel like I have and then realize of course I haven't...not in the same sense, in any case. It's strange to me...to be taking such a big step without her to talk to.
