Should pornography be illegal?
Feb 28th 2005 | Me

Prostitution: one adult pays another adult for sex- is illegal

Pornography: Where one adult pays two adults to have sex and brings a camera, This is legal.

Pornography has been around for over one hundred years, since the time of the camera,

but it has only been the last few decades where it became the money making industry that it is today. And today's pornography is much much worse.

This question came to me after reading this article

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1353029/posts

an excerpt "The Justice Department is appealing the dismissal of an obscenity case in Pittsburgh in which a federal judge said prosecutors went too far in trying to block the sale of pornographic movies over the Internet and through the mail. The case initially was prosecuted under Ashcroft""

Should pornography be illegal?

It's an opinion question, you answer, give your reasons. Is it free speech or not? Why. And where is the line drawn? Has pornography promoted homosexuality and unsafe sex? Or is it a privacy issue?

Should there be standards on pornography?

Concerned Women for America say No- what do you think?

Playboy magazine is not porn.

So when are you going to do your spread? WOMEN OF FREE REPUBLIC is one issue I would buy.

Erotica has always been around; it's interesting.

Porn has probably been around for a long time too, but IMO is boring. (No pun intended)

You claimed that you have done research, with the IMPLICATION of extensive.

I'm NOT being "rude" kid; but you are wasting bandwidth, misusing FR,and talking about things you neither know about nor understand. And since you have a terrible time interacting with adults,I heartily suggest that you stay away from them, since you aren't up for the kind of ADULT give and take common to FR and real world conversations.

I always wish I knew Anais Nin, in the biblical sense.

Whatever it is, Miss B, we all know it isn't something our Creator would approve of.
Now, in my opinion, you're not focusing on the real issue, and that is do citizens of the United States have a right to publish, print, purchase and read pornographic material?
Should it be left to the States? Or would that be detrimental to national cohesiveness if one or more states voted to legalize it while the others did not?
Some would undoubtedly compare it to liquor laws in the counties of various states. Interestingly in a lot of those dry counties in the South one will usually see one or two of those tacky 'XXX Turn Here for Porn' shacks from the interstate.

I never implied anything. You acused me of not having read up on it. You are being completely rude and wasting bandwidth. This is the CHAT section. I'm going to go read people's opinions who really matter now.

True,re the internet, but NOT true at all re porn being illegal in the past.

Up until the late '50s,porn and erotica WAS illegal and easily, through laws, kept out of most people's hands. And it was NOT "pointless" at all,to keep that kind of thing away from most people. It actually was the civilized thing to do and worked very well indeed;even IF some excluded things were relatively harmless and they were.

Yes! I think it's an interesting thought provoking question for all of those reasons.

What jurisdiction should the government have over private affairs? And if those affairs lead to consequences (STDS, morally deficient people, promiscuous sex, sodomy) does the government have a right to regulate it and on what level?

She had a cute Catalan quality to her, and an "active imagination" which is, for me, a VERY important quality in a woman.

Start with "does government have rights?".

Sweetums...CHAT is NOT meant for silly kids to use like a dorm room,to talk about things they don't know anything at all about, but pontificate on,nonetheless.

You really should read your own post and/or type explicitly, what you actually mean. You do neither.

Ignore me at your own peril...you could learn a very great deal of factual information reading my replies. But,you'd much rather remain hopelessly uninformed and ill educated,I suppose. LOL
