Prostitution: one adult pays another adult for sex- is illegal
Pornography: Where one adult pays two adults to have sex and brings a camera, This is legal.
Pornography has been around for over one hundred years, since the time of the camera,
but it has only been the last few decades where it became the money making industry that it is today. And today's pornography is much much worse.
This question came to me after reading this article
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1353029/posts
an excerpt "The Justice Department is appealing the dismissal of an obscenity case in Pittsburgh in which a federal judge said prosecutors went too far in trying to block the sale of pornographic movies over the Internet and through the mail. The case initially was prosecuted under Ashcroft""
Should pornography be illegal?
It's an opinion question, you answer, give your reasons. Is it free speech or not? Why. And where is the line drawn? Has pornography promoted homosexuality and unsafe sex? Or is it a privacy issue?
Should there be standards on pornography?
Concerned Women for America say No- what do you think?
What, your posts? Not sure what I could possible do that you haven't done already.
Drinking heavily and/or being a drunk is not illegal, neglecting or putting your kids in danger is.
At least we'd have someone to hold responsible for the New Deal.
This favors Democrats in actuality, so as Libertarians get people to waste their vote on go-no-where anarchist third parties, they are in fact passive enablers of the Democrat party as I see it.
God, I'm glad we've got you to tell us what to think about, and not think about. It's so much better that way.
Are you sure? I would think they would say yes.
Lurkers can just hang till the next election and witness this circus among Libertarians themselves.
The most gross part are when those that voted for Democrats speak of it here on FR.
That happened a couple of elections ago and kind of made me sick.
Just as it is for anyone in leadership, Americans must face the fact that self-destructive morality should not be regulated. We must have the courage to let the damned be damned.
If the gov't is regulating prostitution, they will be getting money from it. Once they start getting money from something, they start promoting it. they are in that business.
Tha would make for interesting TV to say the least.
If I remember correctly, C-SPan doesn't do local politics, only Fed one. IF the people want to out law porn in a certain state, they cand do so. And elected officials will run on whether t outlaw it and if yes what constitutes porn.
As another FRpr points out, a lot of ppl like porn, so a total outlaw is probably not possible. We can, however, encourage a culture of morality, where porn will be rejcected without any need for laws.
You better stick around. They'll need someone to obfuscate the difference between libertarians and Libertarians for them.
ROFL. And the answer is A.
The tip of is me giggling and this smily :9
It's up to the ppl. It's unlikely all 50 states will have an anti-porn referendum, but it is possible to bring our culture back to a more moral time where no laws are necessary and porn is driven back into the underground it belong.
Why?
There have been anti-obscenity laws since colonial times and our FFs didn't change them.If anything, they made them stronger;as did the individual states.
A large number of ppl like pron. Others see it as free speech. It can also be seen as an anti-business legislation. Because we are a free and capitalist society we simply can't tell the pronmongeers goodbbye and force ppl to behave. IMO< leaving it to the states is the best idea. But forget about legislation. All we need is enough ppl saying no to pron and it will no longer be mainstream.
