Lance Armstrong says he will aim for a seventh victory this summer. . Armstrong has won the Tour for the last six years. His 2005 racing schedule "will include this summer's Tour de France, where he will go for a seventh straight victory," his team, Discovery Channel, said on Wednesday on its Web site. . "I am grateful for the opportunity that Discovery Communications has given the team and look forward to achieving my goal of a seventh Tour de France," it quoted the Texan as saying. . The announcement ended speculation about whether Armstrong would skip this year's Tour, the biggest in cycling, to focus on other events. . Last year, Armstrong became the first cyclist to win the Tour de France six times. . "I am excited to get back on the bike and start racing, although my condition is far from perfect," Armstrong said in the statement. . Armstrong will start his season with the Paris-Nice stage race in March. He will then compete in the Tour of Flanders on April 3 before defending his title at the Tour de Georgia in the United States later that month, the statement said. . Armstrong added that he and his friend and team manager Johan Bruyneel "will evaluate my fitness later this spring and possibly add some races to the calendar." . Olaf Ludwig, the head of the T-Mobile team which includes Jan Ullrich, a former winner, said he was not surprised by Armstrong's decision. . "I thought he'd race," Ludwig said. "His sponsors are not going to leave their best rider out."

Good news, the tour wouldn't have been as exciting this year without him.
Although if they show that skank crow too often I may find myself rooting for Tyler Hamilton over Armstrong.
I predict that the french will attempt something outrageous next time. They're becoming increasingly upset that those bathing Americans keep stomping them at their own game.
I imagine Pierre and the rest of the french media are already getting their panties knotted up over the possibility of the hated American winning again.
wasn't Tyler caught taking drugs?
I hadn't heard that. I'll have to check into that.
Any idea when that would have been?
I do not consider Armstrong an exception. He would actually be equivalent to Barry Bonds.
The French Pappa Razzi are probably already salivating at the opportunity to break into his room and plant some steroids or other performance-enhancing drugs.
He should go back to his wife and children. Maybe if he put as much time into saving his marriage as he did riding a bike...well, you know.
I haven't followed it closely, but if true it is really a pity. I starting watching Tyler riding for CSC a few years ago. Great rider. Anyways, here is a story I just googled:
GENEVA -- Olympic gold medalist Tyler Hamilton was fired by his cycling team two months after testing positive for blood doping.
The Swiss-based International Cycling Union, or UCI, said Tuesday the Phonak team told the governing body that the American rider's contract was terminated last week.
Hamilton, a former University of Colorado skier, confirmed the move on his Web site, www.tylerhamilton.com.

What is she wearing?
Well at least the dress matches the bracelet.
Damn that sucks. I really like that kid.
Lance should be embarrased. He can take the pick of the litter, and he ends up with an anti-american, sloppy 2nds, Kid Rock reject.
