I can more or less vouch for her.

Yeah, but who is vouching for you?

"Since Jan 27, 2005"

Just had two DU trolls who threw themselves on my sword on one of my threads today. Both of which had been here longer than you. (and when I went to work and came home, I went back to the thread only to find that two more had also committed troll suicide.)

Is it a such a sin in America to suggest to an Indian to bury the hatchet?

Pun intended?

Ciao ORECON,

I am half Piemontese by blood and half Sicilian. (And then I guess I have some DUmmie Blood on my sword!)

You have chosen the very best of Italian wines, "The King of Wines and the Wine of Kings"... Although a Tuscan would probably start saying colorful things about Madonnas driving tractors, defending instead their Brunello.

When I am in the Alba Area (the hills of the Langhe) I always buy one bottle of Barolo, two of Nebbiolo, three of Barbera and two cases of Dolcetto.

I'm trying to remember the name of my favorite Cantina... a 1997 Riserva Speciale that is "Vino da Meditazione" (Meditation Wine)... with little subtle surprises from the bouquet to the persistence... (trace "organoleptic" qualities of licorie, tobacco, prune jams)

I'm telling you, it is marvelous! And one of the reasons to fight ISLAM!

If you go to Alba area, in a little town near La Morra, (L'annunziata) there is the Renato Ratti wine Museum inside an old abbey that the Ratti family has rented for 99 years. You will see the whole history of wine-making in that region that goes back to ancient Roman Times. Amphorae with the marks of local Piedmontese producers were found all the way in what is modern day Romania!

The Rattis also make excellent Barolos (and other varieties) and they are fine people. At the end of the tour, there will be a "degustazione" (a tasting) with the beautiful stiff served in Bohemian crystal.

When you are in Piemonte, you must try Agnolotti al Plin, like small ravioli, but with very light pasta fresca, so light that if you puff under the sheet of rolled out pasta (before it is "pinched" into tiny envelopes with the filling) it should ripple on the table.

You have chosen well. The Alba area is so hard working (so UN-stereotypical Italian) that even Calvin himself would want to start a Union. There is one Ltd. company every seven people!

Alba is also Italy's white truffle capital. The Piemontese use yappy little dogs instead of pigs, (like the French do) to find the ugly tubers... ugly, but verrrrrrrry good, sinfully good! I hope you are wealthy!!

If you like chocolate, nearby is the twon of Cherasco, once also a Jewish center, and also a place where many important peace treaties were signed.

There are small chocolate laboratories, private, family run businesses, where you will be in heaven.

Be careful because if you die, a hole will open up and you will slide straight to hell! That is how good the Cherasco chocolates are.

Scavino, Paolo Scavino... That's the name! EXCELLENT Barolo, and fine people. The daughter speaks good English and the father owner is very charming (and generous with the cheeses and prosciuttos while you taste). When you go away, slightly inebriated (in a good way) and lighter of some of the Euros that our fellow forummer Ivan detests, you will understand why human beings do things like dance and yodel.

Salute

Darks is okay. It's just that we get overrun with trolls from the DUmmieland and we tend to get suspicious. Stick around for awhile and watch for "Zot" in the thread titles. You'll see what we mean.

Zot!

If I say I don't like Coca Cola and I don't like the orange hair of Ronald MacDonald

do not for a moment hint that you do not like Bush. Not even if you think he's the greatest president of all time, but thought he might have had a bad hair day today. They will eat you alive.

Ciao Houston,

I am in Rome. Where the largest mosque in Europe is located, and where the Imam was kicked out for preaching suicide bombing and cursing Israel, USA and other nations.

That is one of the reasons I spoke of "evangelization of rationality" at DUmmie Land. You in America have had the terrible violence of Islam, but we are slowly disappearing, (the slow torture of Islam).

There are many reasons, and as one of the forummers pointed out, the reason is that we no longer think in terms of Sin... or if that is too hard to stomach, in terms of simple good and bad.

I saw my Parliament honor Arafat with a minute of silence. A minute of silence for a man who not only killed but taught children how to kill and SENT children to kill other children by blowing themselves up.

A minute of pure infamy. A minute of kissing the devil on the mouth.

Even the fools of DUmmie land, by degrees, must learn to understand that they have chosen not just the enemies of America, (which is bad enough!) but of all humanity and even God.

Welcome to FreeRepublic. "Freepers" are the highly intelligent people who frequent the site. "Freep" is a verb, which basically means we protest or demonstrate (online at polls or live and in person) en mass. Here is an example of proper usage: "We Freeped Hillary Clinton at her booksigning today."

Yes, those at DUh are a bit to the violent side of radical, aren't they? Glad you found the voice(s) of reason.

Welcome, and thank you for an interesting first impression of this forum I've been joyfully following for several years (I've only had the courage to post since 2003).

I felt as you feel now about 5 years ago. Stick around. There's lots to agree with. There's lots to criticize. We're human. That includes those I agree with and those I've had violent disagreements with. I think you'll fit right in.

Say hello to the Spanish Steps and all the other wonders of your native city. Come to Memphis sometime and I'll even take you to Graceland (you can't know how big an offer that is - I've lived here 17 years and refused to go so far).

As to those who attempt to saddle you with the guilt they feel all Europeans should suffer for what they did to the "native Americans," know that my mother was born at Fort Apache and raised on reservations all over the US and I don't blame you, nor do I blame my Scottish fore bares, either. The PC crowd today don't have a clue as to whom they are ascribing guilt and to whom they are ascribing angelic origins. Do a Google search and find out what the word "Apache" means in the language of the Indians who used that name.

Your husband and I are both 50 this year. My very American daughter has just decided that she has no greater ambition than to visit her new friends in Germany (high school theater exchange students) with a side trip to visit her "Bompa" (her Mother's Father) and "Boma" (her Mother's Step Mother) at their home in Belgium. For both good and ill I think that we will find we have more about us that is common than is different.

I don't like Coke, but if you say anything bad about Dr. Pepper I'll seriously question your judgment. And everything about Ronald McDonald has always bothered me. The hamburgers are fine, however, and the french fries (pardon me, freedom fries) are the best there are. ;^>

Welcome to FR.

You'll enjoy the humor here. Although it often gets raunchy, it has a warmth and naturalness -- not like DU, which seemed bitter & hard-edged.

There are also serious, thoughtful comments here as well, depending on the article. Anyway, you'll get hooked fast, as I did.

I am in Rome.

I love Rome, though my mother liked Florence better and my wife and I are partial to Venice. Were you born there?

I love that description of your Parliaments' minutes silence for Ararat.
