I remade "Vanishing Point" before I became a Freeper, but its conservative politics are worn proudly. Those of you who saw it when it aired on the Fox network should weigh in with your comments. I look forward to hearing from everyone else when the DVD hits the street March 8th.
ok...
When it aired on Fox? I saw it when it was brand new. Nothing like fast cars, naked girls and speed (pills) to hold a 17 year old boys attention!
You made it? Seriously? The Viggo version?
Some movies can never be remade.
Are you talking about the 1971 original, or my remake with Viggo Mortensen?
Yeah, I wrote and directed it. Viggo was great and I had a lot of fun completely inverting the leftist politics of the original.
The original is one of my favorite movies. I didn't know there was a remake. But then, I dumped tv 8 years ago, so if it was a made for tv version...
Give it a chance... please!
That's the one!
All right! Pleasure to meet you! I've seen your version several times--enjoyed it very much.
>>Some movies can never be remade.<<
But now it must be made again, because copyrights expire! And now, Bottom Fiedler films presents...
I hate to tell you, but I didn't know it was remade and also it is one of those seminole movies that should NOT be remade.
With all due respect.
I wouldn't want to be the one having to rebuild that Challenger to do it again...............
Hard-core fans of the original have been divided on my version - some love it, some are appalled. I saw an opportunity to have fun with the story and to score a few conservative political points. Got away with a heckuva lot!
Glad you liked it!
I eagerly await this one.
I was a huge fan of the origional and waited for years before it was finally released on DVD. I sat my kids down and we all loved it. Something about a Dodge Challenger.....Mmmmmmmm.
Did you stick to the original plot line, was a Challenger used again (oh please say yes)?
As a previous poster said, whats not to like about fast cars and speed !
I eagerly await your films arrival in my Netflix box.
Cheers,
knews hound
Trivia: Though the filmmakers originally wanted to use actual Hemi Challengers to make the movie, when they discovered how expensive they are, they used 440 Challengers with Hemi nameplates as a more cost-effective alternative. The Hemi engine shown in the film was actually inside a Charger.
ARRGGGGHHH!!!!
But I saw how much they were going for at the Scotsdale auction this weekend on the Speed Channel, so I might be able to forgive you....this time...
