The cape ivy I mentioned is considered a noxious weed here. I have Vinca minor in my yard, which I hate. It's not as bad as the ivy, but it spreads, and if you don't pull it up when it first sprouts, it digs itself right in. Grrrrrrr.

"Somehow the "trust funds" just keep renewing themselves and grow just like ... kudzu." Except when it goes into crisis right before election every 4 years.

"I will be able to retire at a'hem 40!" Heck, at 40, I was still trying to decide what I wanted to be when I grew up.

.38, at my place in the mountains one could see the stone piers and dugout back wall of what had long ago been a little house. The lady of that house in the woods must have planted vinca minor about a century ago. Even though the house disappeared decades back, the vinca had crept out of what had been her yard, up the road and through the woods for about 300 feet. It's still there and still going ...

Except when it goes into crisis right before election every 4 years.Or when the AARP needs more members ...

Why would anyone not like Vinca? It is such a beautiful ground cover. I love it.

"I've enjoyed about all the winter I can stand" Me too! Starting with that horrible weather Christmas week. I'm just sure the kids will never want to come back to Arkansas at Christmas again!

Beautiful but it must be confined or it will take over.

Oh, I laughing so hard at your adventure...now that it is over. I was so worried for yall. But, your daughter and grandson will be laughing about that episode for years, I bet. And yes, they will come back to see what their next adventure in Arkansas will be. Such is family history. LOL
To: Darlin'
Aaaw, but I love that about you. :) Who are you being semi-grumpy with tonight ? Sorry, I was doggie walking.
I'm semi-grumpy at everything.
I got diagnosed a month ago with type II diabetes (so did Nully) and I am not happy about all the holes I have had to punch in my fingers for testing.
Mostly, I think this is just a grumpy time of year.

"You want the weather, you gotta come and get it!" I might have to take you up on that! We got a 60% chance of snow tomorrow, then by Thursday, it is supposed to start getting back into the 50's. Glad I got the Harrison trip out of the way today...for this week.

I don't know diddly pooh about diabetes. But, isn't there a commercial running constantly about this new stick that can be done in the arm or leg, and not just on the finger tips?
To: Conservababe
Yeah, I've got one of them, but the calibration for that is such a hassle it is simpler to just stick a finger. Fortunately it needs so little blood that you can stick the side or back and not the tip and the new needles are very fine.

Dude! Get a Freestyle Flash!
No finger poking. Samples are taken on the forearm, I don't even feel over half the pokes, Maybe one in ten has a slight twinge.
How's your control? I've gone from high 300's/low 400's to a 14 day average in the hundred and teens.
To: sweetliberty
OK. Come and get me it...

William's Piece of Lumber

Light clouds on a twilight sky, colors made richer with a long exposure. A foreground element adds lines and constrasting color. What is that thing? If you haven't figured it out by now, I'm sure you will. Clues are in the title.SO WHAT IS IT?
