Here too. Brrrrrrrrrr!
One of the things they failed to notice in pushing their statistics about how completely dependent, by percentage, that California is on Mexicans in all these professions that are suffering, they completely invalidate the idea that they only take the jobs that Americans won't do.
We had a roofing contractor out at our home a couple of weeks ago, doing some repairs. I wasn' home, and my hubby got here before they left. He said there were two men, both appeared to be Mexican. One of them spoke to him in very good English, but spoke Spanish to his co-worker. That always makes me kinda nervous - I'm wondering if one or both of them is here illegally. The contractor is, I think, Australian. He and his father own the business. I certainly have no control over who they hire - I supposed I could ask, but I didn't think about it. I really rather would not employ illegals, but if you hire a contractor, you can't always know who works for them.
That just makes me sick and is reverse discrimination. One of the most vile racists, Ernesto Portillo, writes for the Red Star (our paper). He is always mentioning that movie and how noble the illegals are. I also don't think it's fair to the legal Americans of Mexican origin - because so many of them are not happy with the illegal situation either. More than 40% (I am thinking 47%) voted Yes on Prop 200. Despite all the campaigning by the state, the media, etc. against it.
Noble? The illegals? Is that why 25% (or thereabouts) of the prison population here is made of up people here illegally? That's pretty noble, eh?
No, it's not fair to Americans of Mexican descent - and many of them resent the illegals. Quite a number of them voted for California's ill-fated prop 187, similar to Arizona's prop 200. Unfortunately, it was shot down by a leftist judge, and the Davis administration didn't appeal the decision.
Yeah, every time our Most Wanted List is posted, nine out of ten are illegals. Ooops, pardon me, "entrants" and "migrants".
Ah, that's right, I forgot about 187. Well, with any luck, other states will stay on the 200 bandwagon now...
Lately, the phrase I've been seeing in news articles is "here without permission". As if that makes an illegal any less illegal.
That's hilarious. Are you cold? It's been raining here and in the high 30s/low 40s toward evening. Cats are cold again until I build them a fire.
OhmyGOD, you are kidding me. Doublespeak, much?
I now have to leave my electric lap throw on low temp for my CC. Gee, I hope he doesn't try to turn it up to high setting.
Hahhahahhah - how cute! Agh - is your back still good? Mine was bad yesterday ... but I haven't been to see anyone in about three weeks -which is a record for me. Today seems a little calmer.
Actually, it's warming up quickly. The sun is out - it was just frosty this morning. It was cold a couple of weeks ago - foggy, and windy. The wind chill was in the thirties, with the humidity up to 100%. That was miserable.
It's on the Gold Talk forum, a fairly small forum. See if you can figure out who I am.
Darn, no matter how I try it, the link doesn't work. Gold Talk pops up but then the screen goes blank.
I clicked on it in preview, and it looks OK. I don't know what the problem is. If it doesn't work, go to Goldtalk.com, then forums, then War in Iraq, then Iraqi Election. I started posting on page two of that thread.
I'm sorry - I still can't get to it :( Thank you for trying.
Now i'm really curious why it doesn't work. Here's a link to the portal:

Off topic, but do you guys have the .22MAG in your aresenal?
A reasonably cheap round that packs a punch.
Now, back to the election.
