That just makes me sick and is reverse discrimination. One of the most vile racists, Ernesto Portillo, writes for the Red Star (our paper). He is always mentioning that movie and how noble the illegals are. I also don't think it's fair to the legal Americans of Mexican origin - because so many of them are not happy with the illegal situation either. More than 40% (I am thinking 47%) voted Yes on Prop 200. Despite all the campaigning by the state, the media, etc. against it.
Noble? The illegals? Is that why 25% (or thereabouts) of the prison population here is made of up people here illegally? That's pretty noble, eh?
No, it's not fair to Americans of Mexican descent - and many of them resent the illegals. Quite a number of them voted for California's ill-fated prop 187, similar to Arizona's prop 200. Unfortunately, it was shot down by a leftist judge, and the Davis administration didn't appeal the decision.
