Hi, my name is Sean Quinn. My original political philosophy was that of a moderate, then I creeped liberal, then joined DU. I had my fun there and became a donor (which I think's about to expire). I got a membership at FR, ORIGINALLY to just troll and to read as most DU folk do. After some serious post-election thinking and re-evaluating of my philosophy (a good issue for this is social security) I stopped going to DU. I started listening to 580 WDBO here in Orlando which advertises itself as "the conservative radio station". Thank the Lord, we don't get Air America here, so it's basically one of the few choices in talk radio. I heard Boortz (whom I love for his open-source talks as well as his political philosophy, yaay for linux) and then Hannity. The gentlemen I put down as a "rightie conservative" before now started to make some serious sense.
So, I say, HI. Though I have an account at DU of the same name, I won't be going back there. I'm pretty sure that I've found a home for me here at FR.

I'm a bit of a neocon, in the extent of taking it literally. I am a new conservative. I hope to once be known as a paleocon.
What I'd like to know is where to find a good guide or some hints for a newbie like myself. Is there a guide? What's Smoky Backroom and GOP Club for? Stuff like that. Thank you dearly.

That's one thing I love about FR. Freepers can be so clever but active and serious.Or is that series?

He only had 199 posts over at DU... He wasn't varsity over there at any rate... I'm with some of the others... even if he was a retread, he admitted that his early interest in FR was as a troll. GIVE THE KID A CHANCE!

Don't feel too bad. (I voted for McGovern but I was the rebellious type).
No need to be overly cautious if you are conservative. Saying something dumb won't automatically get you zotted. The something dumb I refer to are things like the latest dem talking points. I jumped right into the mosh pit the moment I signed up. Was called a troll and newbie in my first few weeks here. I stood my ground and shot back.
Once I put up a really good rant about a guy that had been released by the Bush administration six months earlier. Somehow it just went under my radar. I'm sure a lot of people got a chuckle out of that.
Anyway, this being a conservative forum, well, we're all family here. There's a place at the table for you but if you want the mashed potatoes you better grab them on their way around.

The kid appeared to be up front with FR and said he was Hannitized. Converts to conservatism should be given a chance at FR. I suppose the mods have evidence that outweigh consideration.

You newbies are all the same. Instant gratification. All you want is troll meat. You think because you're on some trendy-assed low-carb diet, you can have troll three meals a day.
