Hi, my name is Sean Quinn. My original political philosophy was that of a moderate, then I creeped liberal, then joined DU. I had my fun there and became a donor (which I think's about to expire). I got a membership at FR, ORIGINALLY to just troll and to read as most DU folk do. After some serious post-election thinking and re-evaluating of my philosophy (a good issue for this is social security) I stopped going to DU. I started listening to 580 WDBO here in Orlando which advertises itself as "the conservative radio station". Thank the Lord, we don't get Air America here, so it's basically one of the few choices in talk radio. I heard Boortz (whom I love for his open-source talks as well as his political philosophy, yaay for linux) and then Hannity. The gentlemen I put down as a "rightie conservative" before now started to make some serious sense.
So, I say, HI. Though I have an account at DU of the same name, I won't be going back there. I'm pretty sure that I've found a home for me here at FR.

I'm a bit of a neocon, in the extent of taking it literally. I am a new conservative. I hope to once be known as a paleocon.
What I'd like to know is where to find a good guide or some hints for a newbie like myself. Is there a guide? What's Smoky Backroom and GOP Club for? Stuff like that. Thank you dearly.

I know this kid, he's cool remove the ban on him please. He's politically astute for his age and is very non-controvertial in his views.Well, I'm always the optimist, but I'm just the messenger. Send info to JimRob and/or the Admin Moderator is my best advise.

I had a feeling he wasn't for real. I have read DU on a few occassions and was skeptical that anyone who sounded so involved in DU could just change philosophy like that. That's why I only welcomed you and Jenn 2000. When I posted Jenn2000 was gone and I was surprised.

I'm not sure if you jumped the gun. The mods are pretty good about this, but this one needs an explanation. If Sean was the old fart eating Cheetos messing with us, then good riddance. But he hadn't posted anything that needed pulling on this thread.
I'll admit that I feel a little like the rug got pulled out from under me on that one. I have no doubt there's a good reason, but I am curious.
I'm with ya'll.Post your opinions honestly. If you are an honest liberal, you will be welcomed (although you will catch some grief). If you are a moderate, you will get some grief depending upon the symptoms of your moderation. If you actually are a conservative, your posts will bear that out eventually and you will earn your respect here one post at a time. And if you are a troll, sooner or later you won't be able to take it any longer, you will suddenly feel compelled to praise Michael Moore or Howard Dean and that will be that.
I would venture that Sean was ID'd as a retread.
