After a nine month hiatus, The Neverending Story, the granddaddy of daily threads, has returned to Free Republic. Originally begun on March 24, 2001, as a religious discussion thread, the NES evolved over time into a daily thread spanning a wide variety of topics. The new and improved Neverending Story will feature conversation on religion, politics, culture, current events, business, sports, family, hobbies, general fellowship and more. We welcome you to hang your hat in our little corner of FR. We ask you to abide by the FR posting rules and, even in the midst of serious debate, to keep the discussion friendly and respectful. Those who wish to "duke it out" are asked to take it over to the Smoky Backroom. I placed this thread in "General/Chat" for a reason, so play nice and have fun! :o)
Im not sure of where your going with this? First you asked me why John didnt know that Jesus would rise again, and I made the point we seldom know Gods plans until after the fact. Then you point out Duet.18:9-12 that God forbade his people to interpret etc.
It seems to me you answered your own question as to why John didnt understand the prophesies made by Jesus, or am I missing something?
JH
But you forgot to point out that they didn't know the Messiah was born until after the fact, some 3 months later, so they weren't prophesying, they were reading history which the Jews of the day hadn't done.
JH
Then why were they following THAT star?
The only explanation must be that God chose to reveal it to these magi Astrologers rather then to those who wouldnt believe or accept the Savior.
JH
Talk about your "open door shots"... I post this at half time and I've got to say I'm feeling pretty confident. :-)
That door was open on the first Dallas offensive play from scrimmage. As soon as I saw that, I knew they were gonna be in Bledsoe's face all day.
What a whoopin'!
Merry Christmas yall. God's blessings, Mal.
Same to you. JH
Thanks. I didn't know if anyone would be around or not.
So is this it? :'(
define "it"? :-)
:') Good. (My Christmas present to yall).
how's it goin?
Ok. I had a 4 day weekend which was nice.
How have you been?

The last post was for you.
1. The Pats lost though with great difficulty. The third stringers and practice squad players almost won the game. My guess is Belichick would have been pissed. He certainly didn't want to meet the Steelers in the first round.
2. Boston College won.
3. Better yet, Notre Dame lost.
I think the Steelers, Broncos, and Colts, (maybe even the Jaguars) are all better teams than the Patriots this year and any AFC team is better than the NFC best.
Funny things happen in the playoffs though and with a healthy Brady and a small miracle the Pats could pull it off.
One thing I know for sure - I'm not making any $ bets.
Hey Reggie. Good to hear from you. Of course I'm hoping for a little Bronco success. Nobody really paying any attention to them which is fine. They have some defense this year.
