~The Dragon Flies' Lair~XVII~
January 9, 2005 | bentfeather and Poets of The Lair

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

I wish I had your talent for posting graphics, pictures, and music, but truth to tell, I don't know how to do it:)

Nothing to it. I can teach you if you wish.

The only thing is one must have a server to store graphics on they cannot be uploaded from your hard drive.

Here's a simple code.

for images.
<img src="XXXXXXXXX">
There can be no spaces only were they are shown in the sample.

Thank you for the offer. I will take you up on that, but I must hit the sack...been up 34 straight hours, and, at age 50, I am getting catatonic:)

Very best regards,
Tim

Spring......I love the showers which perfume the air; trees that tower and budding flowers. Birds when winging are suddenly there; children when singing, beauty to share; butterflies floating, dew on grass coating.

The Apple

The apple is a saucey little item,
Daughter of blossom, sits neatly in the palm,
Exquisite in its pert roundness
And asking to be admired and handled.

Look for instance at the much forgotten stalk
The secret timing of its fall from grace
The gravity of the situation, the earthly grasp
Or else the apple of your eye cradled in the sun,

Plucked in perfection from the tree of life,
The rosie skin that takes a shine,
Protects the inner flesh, firm and crisp and even,
Till young mouths are brought into play,

And teeth sunk into sweet sharpness,
The hint of summer lost in autumn,
Each subtle fragrance stored within the mind,
A host of memories, the DNA of myth, the pips,

Eve's gift, a timely signal carried down the ages,
Sanctuary in miniature, sliced through,
The source of secret divination yields a fertile mind,
The inner core, now discarded, thrown away,

Rises up again, a shadey orchard meeting place
For slender youth, the tree itself
A secret assignation with the golden bough,
A song bird within a garden walled

I am moving a lot of music files this weekend. This may result in much of the music posted in the Lair not playing.

I am sorry about this inconvenience and hope to have a solution soon.

makes my joints ache
and complain for warm temps
mild breezes and dreams of

It is amazing how a poem which takes 30 seconds to read can bring back 30 years of fond memories.

Very good!
