Ooops. I just read over my post and it's a bit unclear. My uncle found the gun in the 1950's.

I could be wrong, but I don't think the grips that are on this firearm are the ones with which it was originally outfitted. They look too modern and don't seem to be as closely fitted as what should have been factory issue. IMHO.

Wow...interesting find. :-) I was a gun dealer back in the early 90's and the Gun Parts Corp used to be a great help in identifying things like this. They're still in business. I just checked their WWW site at -
http://www.e-gunparts.com
You might want to give them a call. I hope you find out what the revolver is though! :-)

First of all, as a one time Colt Collector, it is NOT a Colt.
It MAY be a Harrington and Richardson, but I don't think so. H&Rs were mostly top-break. I think it might be a variation of an Iver Johnson .22 target pistol. I vaguely recall a revolver that looked like this that was sold by Sears and Roebuck around the turn of the 20th Century; they were made by Iver Johnson... and here is a sample of an Iver Johnson .22.

Your Stevens Pocket Rifle was listed in the 1897 Sear Roebuck Catalogue.
The 12" barrel version could be had for $8.95
The 15" barrel version could be had for $10.33
To put the relative cost in perspective a Marlin 1894 Carbine in .44-40 with 20" bbl went for $10.64

Jaysun,
I Have a gun that looks just like the scout you sent pictures of. My gun says NEWPORT on the top. They were made by Newport arms not far from H&R factory. Or so I have been told...I have pictures but don't know how to send them...Dave

Check out the gun on the bottom. It was sent in by our new FRiend Toyboys. He says it's a "trapper" by Harrington & Richardson and it looks to be an exact match to me - bizarre grip and all. Good call neverdem, enigma825, and wardaddy! You guys each win a chili dog, which you can pick up at your leisure ;o)
I'm still quizzing him as to the date and so forth. Thanks a million everyone.

Sorry about the confusion... The gun on top is a H&R Trapper. The gun on bottom is a NEWPORT. Stamped on top just like yours says Scout. I Originally purchased it as a Trapper, But learned that they were made in Newport not to far from H&R factory.. Thats all I could find out about It.. Good luck with your Hunting Toyboys
