Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Though we pass them by today...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I hope they call and let you know how it's going!
And about your worries of the dogs taking off because they don't know them yet.... the people worry about that too, I'm sure, and will be taking care.
To: Corin Stormhands
And if'n you miss the dogs too much, I'm sure g'nad will come and pee on your carpet.Ew!
That's OK...

And about your worries of the dogs taking off because they don't know them yet.... the people worry about that too, I'm sure, and will be taking care.Oh, I hope so! And I hope that they realize the dogs are likely to whine and fuss a bit at first, especially Fritzi. He's really sensitive to change and he'll be depressed for a bit, poor baby.

I think you did great, Rosie! It's ok to miss them, too, but it sounds like you took wonderful care of them and they'll be happy in their new home.
That's a big step forward. No looking back, understand!

Except to check for ninja that might be following you...
To: RosieCotton
I am sure they know there will be an adjustment.
Did you set up for there to be a phone call?
To: HairOfTheDog
We didn't specify, but I have their number and they have mine. She also said she just got a digital camera and can send me pictures now and then.
I'll be fine once I get used to the idea of their being gone. For now...I want to go home and cry. And I just keep picturing the dogs' faces as I last saw them, especially Fiona.

I know it's gotta be hard. Call them tonight and see how they are! or tomorrow. Then you can ask for a call or some pictures in a week.

Have a major tension headache.Got any Celestial Seasonings Tension Tamer Tea? Just have a cuppa English Breakfast tea and breath deeply and slowly for a while.
Seriesly, I'm so glad the doggies seemed comfortable with their new family. I'm also happy that they were able to stay together; didn't you say they were siblings?
Now, keep de-crapping, knowing that the path has just been made a little clearer for you!

But when you look back, they use that opportunity to drop on you from above.
It's so lovely and quiet here! And TheNewGuy showed up today. Will say more later.

I'll be fine once I get used to the idea of their being gone. For now...I want to go home and cry. There's nothing wrong with doing that. As long as you realize there's a time for crying, and there's a time for decrapping.
Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper.
Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;

Heh...I'm pretty sure decrapping isn't mentioned specifically in the Bible, but...
BTW, I was reading through the Book of Psalms at the beginning of November. The day the election results came in, I had just gotten to Psalm 52 - it was fitting enough to totally crack me up.
