The Hobbit Hole XVIII - Though we pass them by today...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 12/20/2004 9:01:36 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Though we pass them by today...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

*shudder* I see a truck frequently going to work with a pair of those. He also has a "My other car is an Abrams" bumper sticker (with a big picture of a tank on it).

Evenin' everyone!

Hair, I cannot believe you posted that! LOL!!

There's a fella with a yellow Trans Am who has got one of those things hanging from the rear bumper. They're not pretty, lemme tell ya.

Especially if you end up stuck behind him in rush hour.

I'm doin' both, honest!

Actually a friend of mine I hadn't talked to in awhile is on-line...so we're chatting...catching up.

But I've also decrapped an entire closet, a trunk, and part of the office. Not bad.

I went with Mom to vote in that election... I'm not sure my parents had finished their conversion to Right yet. They were liberal in high school and had a liberal hangover for a while afterwards...

Can you rent one of those hard-top things and attatch it to the top of the car? Then you could just put furniture in the van.

And the trip wasn't too horrible. I hate freeways, and following people, and I managed to do both.

"Haven't seen much of the older boys cause they discovered World of Warcraft in November, and have had a great time playing it while here. One of their friends is staying with us cause his parents are in Florida, so the three of them all have their computers set up in the basement, headphone/mikes on, and are beating up on orcs, etc in Bleeding Hollow, or someplace like that. They are hilarious."

LOL! I will have to try those :) The one I'm playing is Neverwinter Nights. My Christmas gift was the sequel to the original.
