New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
|
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Golf balls? Little desktop trebuchet... pointed at the office door...
Hmm....
Muscadine? ;o)
Yeah. Like organizing my sock drawer.
Hullo all. Back. The movie was not as bad as I expected. Even if it is from some French novel. Songs were good except when it got soprano-ish.
So... who's ready to take the "I will get a rejection slip in '05" resolution?
Mmmmm....muscadine....
Well since the economic intelligence quotient of this nation is so low, the media can make people believe anything if they reqeat it enough times. The MSM hates corporations, except their own, of course. Every other company is out to run roughshod over its customers, or employees just to please the rich board of directors or the greedy shareholders, dontcha know?
Whut? Mescaline??? Dang... I hate it when I miss out on happy hour... :-)
"We were about a hundred miles out of Barstow when the last of the ether began to take hold. My attorney was pouring beer on his chest to facilitate the tanning process. No sense telling him about the bats, I thought, he'll see them soon enough."
Roger that. Nevermind that corporations are made up of people making real human decisions about real people.
There is no "corporate" entity outside of tax policy. Beyond that there are good people and bad people and they do a number of good things and bad things all day every day across corporate America and the world.
Was reading a litte Thomas Sowell the other day...he points out that the free market is the ultimate democratic institution since it provides the people with the products they desire at the price they are willing to pay...you'd thind that would make the market the darling of democracy lovers like socialists and artists, but I guess not, central planning by higher authority is what appeals to them.
'05? Eek!
But...it's now or never, right? Nothing ventured, nothing gained and all that jazz?
I'm in, I guess! Bit of a scary thought, though...
Thanks, but I still need prayers and good wishes on this project.
I just got a nastygram from Sportsman's Guide, and they won't sell me another 20. I have 15 on hand, and now have to hustle for more. At least we have what we have. I would like to buy one Camillus for every five CRKTs.
I finished the first knife. The estimate of two hours was about right, including all the touchup work. There are 24 grooves that have to be filed. I'm vey pleased with the outcome.
That was the plan, no?
I need a story. This one gets another few years to get worked on. A short story. Hmmm...
Why won't they sell you twenty?
I guess it was the plan...but gosh,'05 is day after tomorrow! Yeah, I know it's a whole year...but still...
I think the story I'm currently writing has potential, but I'm getting frustrated in the telling of it. Have I said what it's about?
Tagline change....
Dang... whahappun there?
Yup, and you gave me chapter one.
I ought to write but we're sharing the horror of a "40 Most Awful Number One Hits of All Time" special.
Evening OT, connection iffy tonight. Yup, we enjoy southern cusine. Looking forward to sampling the victuals. We'll cya Saturday.
I'm just back from the pub - we had a music session.
And I had a Shirley Temple in honor of my brother's little friend's 14th birthday. Heh...haven't had one of those in years.
And I could write, but I've written myself into a corner and am mad at the thing right now. Hoping I can force siblings into a discussion of it tomorrow that will help me figure out what to do.
Basically Elharian-that-is-NOT-a-creep has just told MC that her memories aren't necessarily gone forever, and the Elharian that is her main caretaker is furious. I'm still trying to figure out WHY he's mad...what it would do if she were to recover them that would bother him so much.
And I'm still trying to work in the second story line. I really like that idea, but dunno how to do it.
Evening G'nad; glad the bow works for theboy. The 'no-glove' has been around for years. May give them a try again, myownself.
What type of hits?
