Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Though we pass them by today...
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

You remember Emmylou Harris's hair, when it was long and salt and pepper? I remember seeing her sing once and thinking "That's how I want my hair." Just simple, long and salt and pepper.

This is probably about the time...you can see it's just turning grey. When I saw her it was quite grey. I thought it was beautiful!

Have a 'plan jar' Let everyone put their plans into it, and decide that there will be no grousing about it when the plan gets chosen, cause everyone's plan will get a chance. Then just draw one!

Also got the recycling done to set out tonite. Heh...they're gonna wonder what kind of people we are. Got a whole milk crate full of wine bottles...

The kind of people that throw a really good party? ;-)

Either that or the kind of people whose company stayed too long.
Fish. Company. Three days.
You know the drill.

Corin, great tip about the games at Blockbuster! I was able to take the jedis down there and they bought some games with some money their uncle gave them for Christmas. Matthew is now playing "Star Wars, The Clone Wars" (surprise surprise) and Joshua got "Spiderman"!
I like the 30 day money-back guarantee...

Have a 'plan jar' Wonderful idea, if my sibs were all capable of suggesting cool plans. The other suggestions I got were "leave the bothers and drive to Canada" and "sell the bothers on the black market".

In my family we're still at the stage, I think where not all suggestions would even make it to the written down stage. Instead, likely one bother would grab the jar, run around with it taunting the others, and then fall and cut some major artery, thus scrapping any and all plans for the day.
Something like that.
Heading out to watch disc 2 in a few...we managed to agree on that. Most of us. Sorta. ;-)

Wow, yeah, that sounds about exactly the same as my life, and my bothers are younger than yours.

They're generally better than that now. But there are still moments.
OK, I'm outta here!

Glad it worked out at Blockbuster.

Reverend Mother, I have sinned.
All afternoon I have coveted my nayber's tree service.
They cut down 2 (or was it 3) HUGH oak trees...and then ground down the stumps.
~sigh~
How long, O Lord?
To: Corin Stormhands
You could just tell 'em the neighbors want one of your trees gone, too, if it's close enough to property line.

You could just tell 'em the neighbors want one of your trees gone, too, if it's close enough to property line. Unfortunately, they're the across the street neighbors. Although at one point I would've been willing to sacrifice the bed of thetruck if a tree had fallen on it.
"Fix my truck. Take my tree out. Then I won't sue."
They've got insurance. Right?

Did you see that Lunasa is coming your way? I don't consider St. Louis "my way."

So....what's everybody doing New Year's Eve?
Anyone up for a ROTKEE chat/view?
