Zot! Protecting the Earth

Posted on 12/19/2004 7:21:58 PM PST by LoveTheWorld

Treat the Earth well. It was not given to you by your parents, it was loaned to you by your children.

Poor people decimate the environment...you have to be rich to recognize overgrazing, cutting down forests, polluting water etc. is bad...

In fact, if you are poor, cutting down trees to cook food or to make some money to feed your children looks like a good idea...yes, you could replant trees, but if you are poor, you're probably spending all your time and energy just getting by, and don't have the time, energy, and money to replant trees. So you move to a new area when your fields are worn out, and the trees are gone.

For better or for worse, capitalism ends up seeing investment as making dividends. Which is why Marxist countries are the most polluted, but in areas where companies polluted in the past, the same companies are now often seeing it is in their longterm interest to keep the environment clean, and their workers happy....

Officer Officer, arrest that Honda. I saw the whole thing.

It was awful, that Honda attacked that poor defenseless SUV without provocation.

How can we as a world community come together to protect the Earth better and to leave as much of its natural beauty for our future generations to also enjoy and protect?

We have already started, by removing from power a madman who declared war on the planet. If you recall, Americans undid the damage . . .

My husband's and my children are conservatives with no patience for earth-worshipping sentimentality. They watched exactly one Captain Planet episode and when that Green Goddess or whatever she was appeared, they were out of there.

Let's have everybody drive electric cars, then in 50 years when the batteries are clogging up our landfills, we'll go back to the gas guzzlers, thank you very much.

I Blog BooksShe was not a "troll" as some were stating.

Well secluded, Admin Moderators see all.

You may note several posts have been removed. Also, there are some indications - read carefully - that this was a former troll living under another name.

Jesus said, "if you loved the world, you can not love me"...

He said it, I believe it, that settles it...

Global warming is a bunch of bull.

Go suck some volcanic fumes, they contain more poisonous gasses than all the SUVs on earth

That was her picture via the link she gave to her photo in her description prior to being banned by someone.

I saw it from the source.

Not really, They just take up a lot of space in areas it turns out the envrios like to look at (sans turbines).

Wrong. Recent studies have shown that they have a profound impact on the climate. There are a few articles on it posted here on FR.

oh, who knows, maybe start by sterilizing the bottom half of each high-school senior class?

maybe establishing a "work or starve" national ethic?

maybe abolishing the UN would be a good idea - let the Hounds of Malthus run wild and do their jobs.

or, maybe, we should encourage all one-worlder bleeding-hearts to suck on shotguns?
