I'd go with Ashleigh!

You need Jamie.

Whitney already thinks she owns you. Jamie sees you as a friend.

Otherwise, I'd suggest a good dog. :-)

Good for you. Just pick the one you get along with and you should be alright. A friendly cat makes a wonderful pet.

Well, I'd have to choose Jamie, she's been in the shelter long enough, she needs a permanent home. Especially if you're away from home most of the day, adult cats usually handle that better. However, if you want a more active cat, to entertain you with their antics, you might want to think about a kitten.

Just my 2 cents worth (and 6 cents from my 3 cats, all rescued)

Have quite a bit of experience with this:

First of all--are you prepared for the antics of a kitten? If yes, choose a kitten that is playful in its cage. I choose the one that claws its way up to my shoulder, and snuggles.

If you are looking for something a bit more mature, spend time with the cat out of the cage. A cat who purrs promptly when stroked under the chin will bring as much happiness to you as you will to it.

Finally, make sure the animal is healthy--no crud around the nose or eyes, no visible whites of the eyes. Take the kitty immediately to a veterinarian for an exam before taking it home.

Enjoy!

I'd pick Tillie, the baby Calico. A Christmas kitten would be wonderful.

Personally, I like orange cats - the classic marmalade colored Garfield or Morris sort of guys. We've got 2 now and I've had several others in the past.
To me, they're smarter and have lots more personality than "ordinary" felines.
Interesting to note that none are supposedly now available at your shelter. (hmmmm - wonder who got 'em all?)
However, "Rain" looks like a keeper.

Oscar or Dusty, for what it's worth. I'm not a cat person, but those too are damn cute!

They are all too cuuuuuuute! I'd adopt a bunch myself, but my own 4-legged princess wouldn't like it very much.

Since you are gone during the day, one kitty would get bored (and into mischief). I would go with Galway and Norah. Good luck and keep us updated on your new addition(s)!

I adopted a cat from a shelter about five years ago. He was already full grown, but I noticed the label outside his cage said something like "sweet lovable cat". That did it for me, hook line and sinker.

I would go for a full grown because their chances of being adopted are smaller than the cuter kittens.

Howdy, neighbor!

Man...I should NOT be looking at sites like that! I already have three, which is two more than I set out to have!

Sophie's the one that caught my eye, for whatever reason. Not the fluffiest or cutest of the bunch, but there's something about her...

Personally I'm leaning towards Jamie or Whitney.

Then take the both of them.

Tough choice!

I'd adopt Jamie. I like that she is affectionate. Imagine how she will blossom with you in her own home with lots of love for YOU!!!

Thanks for the ping Cal.

I can only tell you how I choose pets at the Humane Society.

Take the animal, out away from the others, and talk to it.

If it responds, take it home, if it does not want to hear
your voice, all the cuteness in the world won't make up for
a pet, who does not want to hear you.

The 2 kitties I have now, love my voice, they must, as they
mob me when I answer the phone.

Wish you were close to me, I live in the middle of a feral cat colony, so always have abandoned babies to keep in the
house and to find homes for.

Take 2 cats, one will be lonely.

Good luck and Merry Christmas.
