My husband called my daughter’s sports bra a “sports apparatus.” He refuses to acknowlege she is growing up.
(That guys' sick; and those girls didn't get lucky having him for a daddy!)
I don’t know that he’s necessarily refusing to acknowledge it, but some parts of the “growing up” of the daughter are more appropriately handled with Mom. It’s good that you’re both there to fulfill your respective and appropriate roles. I have my 14 year-old daughter living with me because she finally got tired of her mother’s mental and emotional problems. I wish I had the input and support of a Mom for a lot of these things, but I don’t - I’ll find a way to handle it and make some mistakes along the way, but we’ll get through it.
