Picture problem on computer. (Vanity)
12/15/2004 | PayNoAttentionManBehindCurtain

Posted on 12/15/2004 1:31:27 PM PST by PayNoAttentionManBehindCurtain

I spent most of the day cleaning out my putter, Ad-Aware SE, SpyBot, Spyware Blaster, Norton.

I also added Firefox browser and its all running fast and smooth, but...any pictures that show up on the threads are out of focus and grainy.

I know I probably quarantined something I should not have, but I don't know where to go from here to fix it.

Anybody out there have any ideas?

Thanks

BigMack

Check your screen resolution's color quality. It should be at least 16 bit or higher (most current graphics cards support 32 bit).

Just right-click on your desktop wallpaper, select Properties and click on the Settings tab. That's where the info is.

Yup... either change your resolution - and if you can't- you probably need to re-install your video drivers.

Nine times out of ten this situation is caused by a stuned beeber.

On a more serious note: Do the images appear blurry when using another browser? (You may want to try Off By One)

It needs to be set to 16M at least. 256 colors is too few for jpgs to show up correctly.

There's your problem. You should be at millions of colors. At 256, everything looks like crap.

Yet another UBE (Unnecessary Beeber Exam).

Re-boot and try again. Try the "Troubleshoot" option in Properties, or click the Windows flag for more help.

Don't clean your screen with your handkerchief during flu season. :^)
