Check your screen resolution's color quality. It should be at least 16 bit or higher (most current graphics cards support 32 bit).

Just right-click on your desktop wallpaper, select Properties and click on the Settings tab. That's where the info is.

Yup... either change your resolution - and if you can't- you probably need to re-install your video drivers.

Nine times out of ten this situation is caused by a stuned beeber.

On a more serious note: Do the images appear blurry when using another browser? (You may want to try Off By One)

C'mon you people! A fellow Freeper needs our help, and you're just giving him a hard time! Here is a calibration photo for you. When this image is clear, everything is as it should be.

ALL YOUR GRAINY JPEGS ARE BELONG TO US!

Seriesly though...depending on the kind of video card you have, Go to Control Panel/Display and you should be able to change your color quality setting (thats what its called in XP...its called Colors in Win 2000) from 256 colors to 16 bit or 32 bit. If 16 colors and 256 colors are the only selections...first reboot...if it persists...then re-install your video drivers.

If you have dial -up and are using one of the accelerators some ISP's have now they make the hook up faster by vutting down on the looks of the pictures.

This reminds me of a similar problem. For those of you know don't know, those "web accelerator" "features" that are used by some dial-up ISPs recompress original web images, destroying the look and clarity of graphics, frequently making images look smeared and fuzzy. AOL has had this on by default for years, though it can be disabled.

Reminds me of something my niece pulled when she was about age 3.

Out of the blue, she starts screaming, "I can't see! I can't see!"

Grandmother [in panic mode] asks, "What's wrong? Why can't you see???"

Niece laughs, replies "'cause I got my eyes shut."

Sounds like you might have a monitor driver (graphics driver) you might have to download. My monitor (View Sonic) comes with a CD for driver installation. My old monitor (Compaq) I had to update my drivers from their website from time to time. I would need to know more about your system and what you have done to it and when these symptoms first started or if you have had them all the time.

Can anyone help me? The picture on my monitor has turned sideways, the top on the left, bottom on the right. I've rebooted twice. Tried the buttons on the monitor, propeties on thr right click.... Even swapped monitors with another computer. The picture is still sideways. I'm not even sure who to call about this. My ISP nephew says he has never heard of such a problem. Does anyone know how I can fixed this? My neck is getting really sore...

Here's my own personal picture test. If this is crystal-clear, you're on drugs.

On the right hand side of you monitor, near the bottom, is a little round knob. It is the "focus" knob. Try clockwise first......
