Fanny Farmer Fudge (5 lbs. - enough for Dog, etal)
In large bowl mix 3 large (12 oz) pkgs. of chocolate chipe and 1/2 lb. butter, 2 cups chopped walnuts & 3 tablespoons vanilla.
In large saucepan put 4 1/2 cups white sugar and 1 large can Carnation milk (NOT sweetened). Let come to a rolling boil and boil for 6 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour over bowl mixture & stir until chips & butter are melted.
Pour into foil lines cookie sheet. Refrigerate util firm, slide off cookie sheet and tip over. Peel off foil, slice into pieces.
After the initial oooling (setting in refrig. it doesnt need to be refrigerated any longer to keep.

You mentioned your radio station playing non stop Christmas songs. We have one here that does that too. AND yesterday I was waiting for my husband and son to unload the cart of groceries into the back of the truck, a car pulled in beside us. The man jumped out and walked briskly to me. He had a big smile on his face.
He said "MERRY CHISTMAS!!!!". I was stunned. Usually people are rude in the parking lots. I said MERRY CHRISTMAS back to him. That was a very pleasant surprise.
I was just going to jot you a note on the Wed get together.. Yes, I will be there. Prolly with "uncle bill" .. and maybe one other.
A little late but should be interesting, It is in your back yard!

Good morning kassie and everybody. Going to post and run this morning, much to do. It's nice to see and hear Christmas honored isn't it kassie. Last weekend we had lunch at a little diner that had a sign up that said Merry Christmas and Christmas carols (both religious and secular songs) were playing over the stereo speakers.
I took a moment this week to call one of the managers of the diner and thank them for those efforts. I said that I was certain if I felt this way there were a lot of other people who also did. The manager was pleased to hear the compliment and promised to relay my thoughts to the owners.
Must get going. Will check back when I can later on.

LOL, I remember the days we had inside cats and the Christmas tree up. It was an endless battle to keep them out of the tree. They'd chase each other around and around it and finally up it!
I'm so glad you called and thankded them for playing Christmas music. After all THIS IS CHRISTMAS.

I couldn't face the shopping CROWDS yesterday, so I made batches of party mix (a family munchy favorite). I need to make another ton of it though because everyone wants to take some home w/them TOO! Whew.
