South Park fifth season DVD scheduled for March 1 release
South Park Studios ^ | December 3, 2004 | Staff

Posted on 12/06/2004 10:14:47 AM PST by EveningStar

Paramount confirmed that they will indeed distribute the fifth season boxset on March 1st. This is a 3-DVD set, featuring all 14 episodes. No other details were included just yet. For now, this is what the cover art is going to look like.

On the possibilities of a directors commentary, we're not sure. Some rumors were that the DVD set was delayed because of the Team America movie and Paramount was unable to get a commentary track laid for the set. Once we get more news on this item, we'll post it.

I am excited that two shows I grew up on when real little, Night Court and later Murphy Brown (I love journalism, so I am a sucker for any such show....love Sports Night especially) will be released on DVD starting next year.

Butters Rocks. The "Butters is Missing" episode was classic.

"Everyone Knows its Butters"

And when Cartman, channeling Kenny's sould, goes into the abortion clinic and says, "I would like a living thing sucked out of me, please."

People are free to apply whatever label they wish to themselves, but it's the meaning you pour into the label that really matters. Saying you're conservative could mean something as shallow as you're just a punk who likes to drive his souped up Honda Civic and doesn't want gas prices to rise, but you think that dope and pornography are cool. And you hate mean people. Whatever that means.

Take another word. 'Christian'. There are a lot of folks who say they're a Christian, but when push comes to shove they don't really like all the 'restrictions' imposed on man in the Bible.

The trouble is that we have a society filled with non-thinkers. Their first thought every day is how to fulfill their lusts. South Punk is just a symptom of the problem.

I was amused, but not surprised, to find that Hollywood director Oliver Stone is Matt Stone's uncle. I guess it sort of fits, I mean they both produce similar types of garbage.

Agreed. And it's a beautiful, innately satisfying thing to realize that technology has finally afforded us -- at long, wonderful last -- the ability to color code their more egregious, inherently anti-conservative sentiments appropriately.

The day conservatism in this country starts definining which adherents are the "truer" ones based upon which cartoons (if any) they most prefer: we'll know the movement has finally surrendered any viable claims of intellectual validity... or even simple coherence. Thankfully, however: that day seems far off, and more comfortingly distant with each passing day.

The Butters gets...are the best ones.

I must disagree, TV NEWS was the the best. ...if only b/c of the hair and dog videos. 8^)

Awwww, don't "dis" on Old Cracker! He's just concerned that we're all going to Mr. Satan and Chris's place because we watch SP. Like I've said before, my 85 year old Republican, Christian Mother-in-Law laughed her hiney off the 2nd time she saw SP. The first time she was too shocked to do anything! The difference between my Mama and the O.C. is she understands Satire. It must be the 85 years. Maybe when O.C. is 85 he'll relaaaaaaax, guy!

I'm always extra wary of people who express this attitude (that of a repressed, self-righteous prick). It's often a facade for somebody who bears ugly, abnormal sexual appetites. I'd hate to see what you have to hide, O.C.

You said exactly what I wanted to say, but I've gained the discipline to dismiss and forgive O.C. for whatever awful crosses he bears that made him this way.

Someday I could really snap at him in a rant, but I would wait for the biggest possible audience to achieve full effect. There's no need to waste keystrokes here in a giant debate about South Park, a fact that he didn't consider tonight. Baiting him to post here was a mistake in the first place. Amusing, but definitely cruel to pick an easy target.

Please allow us to fully respect you, O.C., and achieve civil friendship by ignoring those "punks" who so bother you.

Many of the sins that I have committed during my lifetime, and they have been numerous, have been confessed to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Some, with the passage of time have been forgotten, but gradually the Lord shines His grace on them to allow me to repent. I still sin, but He is merciful and forgives my sins as I ask for His forgiveness.

The sins I have committed I am not proud of, but Jesus Christ has promised that once forgiven they are removed from His memory as far as the east is frrom the west.

You are right, Rock, I have my share of problems, but swimming in the filthy pond of entertainment like South Punk is not one of them.

Children, both adolescent and adult, who have yet to mature past potty humor don't bother me as much as the purveyors of the trash.

If you have the need to snap at me, feel free, I can take it.

As far as being baited to post here, isn't that what Free Republic is all about? Exchange of ideas, even if they differ from your own?

Since you've gained the discipline to dismiss me, why did you use one entire post to discuss me with another FReeper? I am not interested in cultivating civility with punks who have chosen to never grow up.
