AMERICA - The Right Way!! (WEEKEND EDITION: Days 1414 and 1415) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | December 4, 2004 | All of Us

Posted on 12/04/2004 4:36:32 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Russian President claims America wants a new dictatorship in Iraq, saying Russia cannot see how a free and fair vote can be held next month with the violence in the country.

Speaking of Iraq, the Navy is investigating new photos, predating Abu Ghraib by several months. AP notes "the far more brutal practices photographed in Abu Ghraib prison occurred months later." AP writes these pictures of Navy Seals recall aspects of Abu Gharib insofar as the prisoners were being assaulted and humiliated.

The AP specifically called out the fact that there were "grinning men wearing U.S. flags on their uniforms."

Decide for yourself, here are the pictures released by AP:

Other than the one above where the Seal is sitting on the prisoner, and even that is extraordinarily borderline as no context is being given, where's the abuse? Must be the flag, since the AP is liberal, and liberals hate America.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

He has to go to the hardware store by himself.

Is that safe? They have so many gadgets there.

OH BOY!! THE LEFT OVER TURKEY IS GONE, GONE, GONE, YA HEAR? I have to admit, I cheated some, the dogs got some yesterday and they loved it.

Thanks for the chuckle. Our 3 kitties are known to like a little turkey leftovers too!

Been up to my eyeballs with CHRISTMAS decorating. Artificial tree is up in the picture window and is nearly all decorated. I use a pastel/somewhat Victorian theme on it.
Next week, we'll probably find our live tree to cut down. That will have the ornaments of deeper colors.
This time of year, I especially wish we had a bigger house as we've collected quite a stash of Christmas decorations over the years. (You can get pretty good deals on them sometimes at estate sales.)
The nativity scene is firmly in place, vast Santa colleciton on the piano, and have yet to put up the snowman collection.....and arrange candles around the place.

I never watch so much tv as I do in December either - all the movies and music programs and decorating shows......guess I just love Christmas or something! And the music - Christmas CDs get spun a lot around here! You all that have 24 hour Christmas music on the radio are lucky! :-)

We have NO need for specialty mustards, fancy soups, and extra wine.

I agree, 'cept, lately, around here you can NEVER have enough wine. :-) Actually, I haven't had wine in several years. Thanks for the reminder. :-)

AND what is it with men and mustards?

lysie - it's so easy I'm embarrassed to call it a recipe. LOL

Sweet Toasted Pecans:
1 egg white
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 dash vanilla extract
4 cups pecans

Preheat oven to 275. Line cookie sheet with wax paper. Spray paper with cooking spray.

Beat egg white until stiff. Add vanilla and brown sugar. Stir until smooth. Stir in pecans to coat. Pour onto cookie sheet. Bake 10-15 minutes.

Sweet and Sour Pecans:
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup warm water
1 cup pecan halves
2 Tablespoons sugar
1 Tablespoon chili powder
1/8 teaspoon red pepper

Stir together: 1/4 cup sugar and warm water until dissolved. Add pecans; soak 10 minutes. Drain, discarding syrup.

Combine 2 Teaspoons sugar, chili power and red pepper. Add pecans, tossing to coat. Place pecans on a lightly greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 for 10 minutes, stirring once.

Those are my favorite and the men especially love the sweet and spicy. So easy and some pretty packaging and they make a nice hostess gift because we've discovered in the south you CANNOT walk into someone's house empty handed. Ever.

someone says....'Don't quit your day job'.... this is commonly known as a joke.

To me "Don't quit your day job." is commonly used to tell someone they have no ability or talent....that their creation is a failure. It is in my view a nasty put down.

But you have a differing opinion and I will gladly adopt your view on what is funny and what is a put down.

You view of what is a joke allows me to quote you a line I used a few times in Vegas. Occasionally there would be a female heckler when I was playing the Golden Nugget Lounge.I would stop the band, Point to the offending female.. and say...

Trying to be a commedian... Huh??? !!!! pause

Don't quit your night job?

It always broke up the room. I'm sure you would find it equally as funny if I said it to you...

Leave her alone, dipwad.

She is correct in her reference to DQYDJ being a joke.

But you are so wrapped up in how wonderful you think you are that you can't tell a joke from an insult.

Now go back to YOUR mirror and PAT YOURSELF on the back.

The AU vs. Tennesse game will be on this evening same network.

I WISH we didn't have a contract with them. Jefferson Pilot is good enough with me.

This years game should be very interesting.

I listened to the coach at the QB Luncheon the other day talking about how we have to play to beat Navy.

Our record stinks but I hope the new coach can lead them to victory....especially since the Commander In Chief will be attending this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to have to go into the attic later for Christmas decorations.

I was hoping I had what I needed down here already, but that would be too easy now, wouldn't it??

WallyMartWorld has these new lights, they are green and red in the same bulb..I was tempted, but I need at least 3 strands of lights and my choice was 3 @ $1.97 or 3@ $3.97...I went the cheap route.

I sent Mr. Peach to the store yesterday for celery for the stew. Just celery. 2.5 hours later he came home with bags of food, most of it fattening, naturally.

Did he get celery?
