Just kidding. I have no idea about hypnosis.
I don't know about weight loss but it does work for things like panic attacks. I used self-hypnosis to control and eventually get rid of panic attacks.
I also took Inderol but that just lessened the symptoms, it was the hypnosis that stopped the cycle.
You really have to work at it, though. I wouldn't call it an effortless process.
YOU WILL PAYPAL $500 TO MY ACCOUNT
(how was that?)
Just keep playing the tapes of John Kerry's speeches and you will be too sick to eat (weight loss) and you should be put to sleep as a bonus.
Tried it to improve my batting average... it had no tangible results.
IMHO give it a try - but do it privately, not in a group-thing.
It didn't work for me, I tried it for stopping smoking. Not one little bit did it work, a complete waste of money. Didn't work for my mother either.
My grandmother successfully quit smoking years ago with acupuncture/accupressure (not sure which) where the therapist put a tiny plasic bead on the edge of her ear. Everytime she wanted a cigarette, she touched the bead. It worked for her immediately. So maybe something like that could work???
That's amazing...I've just been looking into hypnosis this week, and was thinking of asking FReepers what their experiences were.
I saw a Dateline episode a while back where five people were trying to lose weight. Dateline let each one choose which methos they wanted to use--one did Atkins, one Weight Watchers, one did Slim Fast, etc., and the other tried hypnosis and dieting. After a couple of months the hypnosis person had lost way more than anyone else.
Proof? No. But interesting...
Want to lose weight. I have a great diet. I'd publish it and charge for it but it is not long enough to fill a book. Here it is.
Plan A (For the really energetic)
1. Eat anything you want, as much as you want.
2. Exercise as much as you eat.
Plan B (For the rest of us)
1. Eat as much as you want and whatever you want.
2. After you eat, take a short stroll, even if nothing more than a walk a few houses down the street and back. Don't just sprawl out on the couch or go to bed immediately after eating, especially after a big meal.
That's it. Under Plan A or Plan B, you will lose weight. Choose the plan you are most comfortable with. And if you need any coaching, drop me a FReepmail.
Now, go to the fridge and get yourself a bowl of ice cream.
