This may sound a little strange but I could use some help from all of you! FReepers are of course the smartest and most creative people I know so I figure that you are a good group to ask this question:
What is a good gift for a guy?! About a year ago I met the most wonderful man. I loved him the moment I saw him and hes been by my side ever since. He's given up his life at home to move to Pittsburgh to live with me so I could be by my family. The best part about this guy... he turned conservative for me and a registered republican :O)
The only problem is he is so hard to shop for! He is one of those guys who is very simple- he doesn't like anything flashy or too expensive and even if he was given a million dollars he wouldn't by a single thing for himself. But I need to know what is a good gift for a guy?? What is something meaningful I could give him or something I could do? Any comments would be helpful. What's the best gift anyone has gotten you? Thanks!!!
By something sexy for yourself....he'll love you for it.
Iceland.
Something from Victoria's Secret.
Tools are always good. How about a nice, full set of wrenches? (Got one for my 1st anniversary, and am still pleased as all get out with it.)
And for levity, a pair of glow-in-the-dark boxer shorts.
Aha! I've been trying to figure out whose fault that Patriot loss was. Now you've let the cat out of the bag.
PS...I like coconutt2000's letter idea. He'd appreciate that a lot more than anything you could buy him. Take it from a simple guy who is alos a big mush. Make it a special letter on really nice stationery, etc..
Camping equipment
Fishing equipment
Glamour photoshot photo of you in antique style frame!!
Porch swing for star gazing
If he drinks, what about a good bottle of expensive scotch.
Don't get him clothing of any kind. Especially, a tie.
Well, I'm a perfect guy and I don't go in for flashy or expensive, so...
This may take some work, but the best way to find what he would like is to see what he gets OTHER people. At some point he will say, "Joe will love this widget -- it's really cool." Translation: "I love this widget but I don't like to spend money on myself."
Problem solved.
Great answer!
OK, new idea:
Go to http://www.exlsports.com/cgi-bin/netcat.pl (sports memorabelia) and put in "Priest Holmes" in the search. 4 or 5 signed items came up. If I was a big fan of a single player, I would LOVE the signed helmet.
If there really is a perfect guy out there then I would hold on to him, tell him you love him, tell him how wonderful he is. Cherish the fact that you found a perfect guy. He probably doesn't need a fancy gift. I would suggest something memorable from your first date.
There aren't that many perfect people out there!!
Many try to think they are perfect, but are far from it when you find out who they really are.
Binoculars
Expensive folding knife like a Swiss Army knife or something similar
Magazine subscription corresponding with a personal interest.
Tools but you have to get your brother/father/son to go with you. I'm sorry ladies but it almost never works out when you buy tools without male help
More info, please.
What are the 5-7 top priorities, passions etc. in his life in rank order?
What are the 3-5 most common things he does with 'free' time?
What colors does he prefer?
What kind of music?
What kind of books?
How does he typically show he cares for others?
If you give me more info, I suspect I can come up with a list of possibilities. People usually say I'm good at picking gifts--thoughtful, creative etc.
